This book I have read three times now....

It is written by Sara Payne.. Mother of Sarah Payne who was sadly murdered by Roy Whiting a known sex offender..

The book follows Sara & Michael's story from before Sarah's birth taking you through their feelings of having a girl after already having two sons on a low income, all through Sarah's early childhood... you get a sence of knowing the family quite well through the early chapters...

The book then turns to that dreadfull day in July (july 1st, 2000) from the children playing happily on the beach in sussex to the moment Sarah was gone..
It then takes you through the weeks of searching for Sarah, the families feelings how they coped.. or didnt.. and to the day that Sarah's body was found... a very very traumatising day for the family, through this book Sara talks of her pain anger and frustrations following Sarah's abduction.. you learn of the marriage troubles depression and terrible times they all went through all whilst in the public eye.

Sara tells of her quest to get Sarah's Law passed in government and the problems that arose during this..

Also we are taken upto and passed the trial of Roy Whiting.

Then on a happier note we are taken through the pregnancy and birth of Charlotte Sara and Michael's fourth child...

the rest and inbetween is for you to read, there is so much more than I could ever write.

This is the Story of Sara's life and the sad and early death of a beautifull eight year old girl

"Sarah was abducted on July 1.
The family had spent the afternoon together on the beach near her grandparents' home in Kingston Gorse, West Sussex.
At the end of the day the four children walked into a field of wheat.
But Sarah turned back - and was thought to have been grabbed by a man in a white van.
Her body was found 16 days later. Sara remembers her daughter racing across the sands on that last day.
She said. "The sun was shining on her and she was wearing her blue dress. I have replayed this scene in my mind a thousand times.
"It is my last memory of her, full of life - a typical eight-year-old.
She was picking up shells and splashing along the water's edge.
"Her long hair was billowing in the wind and she wore a massive smile. Always smiling."

RIP Sarah ...

I have read this book as I said three times now and each time I am amazed at the strength of Sara in such a tragic time, she is an amazing woman, this is a book I recomend to you and will read again myself some day

you can find the book in most bookshops priced around £6.99
