CHRISTIE & ME
I've been a fan of Christie's from as far back as I can remember; probably my early teens. My mum used to read her novels and often passed on books to me as she knew we had very similar reading tastes. I can't quite remember the first book of Christie's that I read but I was hooked from the very first one. I do recall the very first one I bought for myself though and that was a hardback edition of A Murder is Announced.
Over the years I've built up my collection of AgathaChristie books and would say that I now own well over 50 of her detective fiction books and intend to keep going till I have collected them...

Advantages: easy to read mystery novel Disadvantages: it's Agatha but not Christie...
...agent who has retired from London to live in the Cotswolds. She is the creation of Marion Chesney who goes by the pen name of M C Beaton. Beaton's first novel starring Agatha Raisin was called Agatha Raisin and the Quiche of Death which was published in 1992 in which Agatha Raisin is supposed to be about 53 years of age. In Agatha Raisin and the Murderous Marriage it is unknown how many years on this is from the first book but as far as I could gather it's maybe a year or two at the most.
I found it quite interesting to read that a woman of 55 still has the same insecurities (no matter how unfounded) about men, love and her looks as a woman might have in her 20s, 30s and 40s. It was amusing to read how jealous Agatha feels whenever they're in the middle of looking into something relating to the case and another woman is involved...

Being a die hard fan of AgathaChristie, The Grand dame of Mystery.. i find it a pleasurable task to review any of her works be it a novel, film or an audio version..here it is brilliantly narrated by Anna Massey.
AgathaChristie accompanied her Husband , The archaeologist Sir Max Mallowan to all his Archaeological digs in the Middle East where She was inspired to write several novels set in the Middle East...notably among them are ' They came to Baghdad,Death on the Nile ,Death comes as End , An appointment with Death and Murder in Mesopotamia' ....
She developed a close and affectionate link with the Middle East. In fact, she put together some of her most popular whodunits while assisting at digs in Iraq and Syria...
