...Where do I start with Associates Motor Finance? Front loading of Loans gives a whopping 18.3% apr. Rude and abusive customer service. I tried to get a settlement figure out of the Associates regarding our car loan after they accused us of being two months in arrears despite paying on the dot every month by direct debit. I phoned up numerous times to receive one by fax three hours later. I look through the figures and there was a glaring mistake. I phoned them back to point out the error and ask for a correct settlement figure - all I got was abuse and accusations about calling the customer (dis)service advisor "stupid". I eventually spoke to a supervisor who promised a new (and correct) fax - needless to say a week later this has not arrived. On the original fax I noticed that they were only prepared to give a £20 discount... Read review

...The S & P 5 0 0 ( The Standard and Poor’s 500 ) is a wide stable American index that has provided solid growth for the last 5years. not yielding the explosive returns associated with the N A S D A Q or the bullish growth of the D O W J O N E S . The index in future is a more stable and secure place and method to invst in North America. Not sufering from the same prophecies of crashes and assessments of overvaluation as the DOW and N A S D A Q but still yielding 5% real per year.... Read review

Advantages: Good credit limit, high acceptance rate
Disadvantages: very high interest

...The Associates credit card is the first credit card i managed to get my hands on. It felt great, the first time i had been accepted for credit, low credit limit to start with £250, but went up to £1000 after 6 months. Unfortunately i have fallen into what i like to call "the credit trap". All i can say, and i think i speak for alot of young lads, is that if you put £1000 in a 18 year olds hands, its not likely to be there for very long. I managed, by some pure stroke of luck, to avoid going over my credit limit for the first 6 months. Then, something awful happened. My limit was increased to £1000.(oh dear). Having had this limit for no more than 2 weeks, i was racing towards the limit. Im usually quite good with my finances, but for some reason, got some more credit along the way, not much, just some.
