...Where do I start with Associates Motor Finance? Front loading of Loans gives a whopping 18.3% apr. Rude and abusive customer service. I tried to get a settlement figure out of the Associates regarding our car loan after they accused us of being two months in arrears despite paying on the dot every month by direct debit. I phoned up numerous times to receive one by fax three hours later. I look through the figures and there was a glaring mistake. I phoned them back to point out the error and ask for a correct settlement figure - all I got was abuse and accusations about calling the customer (dis)service advisor "stupid". I eventually spoke to a supervisor who promised a new (and correct) fax - needless to say a week later this has not arrived. On the original fax I noticed that they were only prepared to give a £20 discount... Read review

...The Associates credit card is the first credit card i managed to get my hands on. It felt great, the first time i had been accepted for credit, low credit limit to start with £250, but went up to £1000 after 6 months. Unfortunately i have fallen into what i like to call "the credit trap". All i can say, and i think i speak for alot of young lads, is that if you put £1000 in a 18 year olds hands, its not likely to be there for very long. I managed, by some pure stroke of luck, to avoid going over my credit limit for the first 6 months. Then, something awful happened. My limit was increased to £1000.(oh dear). Having had this limit for no more than 2 weeks, i was racing towards the limit. Im usually quite good with my finances, but for some reason, got some more credit along the way, not much, just some. ...About two months ago, I received and advert to apply for an Associates Finance credit card. Well, I did. Within a week, I received a rejection letter. It really bothered me that they sent me an advert and then rejected me but I just let it pass. Right before Christmas I received an invite for a personal loan from our local Associates Finance. I thought well the money will come in handy for Christmas so I thought I would give them a ring on a Thursday evening at 5:00pm. Of course, I really thought they would reject me again but I thought hey, I would give it a try. That very evening, they rang me back and said they could help me and asked me how much I wanted.
