Advantages: Beautiful characterisation Disadvantages: I didn't want it to end
...the diagnosis, his father's not so sure, but Chip is determined to enjoy what's left of his life whilst he can.
With so much stress at home with his folks, Chip moves in with Myra and Frank the dog which seems like the answer to Myra's prayers until his high-school sweetheart Diann comes to stay - poor Myra, in love with Chip and he's with Diann, it's all very painful. Will Chip realise how Myra feels, will Chip realise how HE feels, will Myra allow herself to be loved, and how will the writer attempt to give a happy ending to a story that has to end with death and separation? There can be no cheesy miracle cure so how can she eke out something to send the reader away with a smile?
I've read a few of Elizaberth Berg's books and whilst I can't remember much about any of them, I'm left with a general sense of her as a writer of calm, gentle, thought...

Advantages: Great read Disadvantages: You can't put the book down
...'Abomination' is an exciting thriller which once you have started you can't put down. The book begins by describing the two main characters, Martha ans Scott who take it in turn, chapter by chapter to tell their side of the story. Martha comes from a strict religious who believe in no T.V and hand made clothes. For this reason no one is her friend. Scott is new at school and becomes friendly with Martha after this Scott is bullied. Martha and Scott become close friends until Scott wants to go to Martha's house. The problem is abomination. Martha's family doesn't want anyone to find out about it. Later on in the story Scott does find out what Abomination is and wants to help Martha. The book leads to an unpredictable ending, when you find out what Abomination really is. You can buy this in book stores for £3.99....
