Dead Man's footsteps by Peter James

Advantages: brilliant crime story you won't want to put down
Disadvantages: If you haven't read the previous books you may lack some background

in what would happen and who would get away with what even though most of them were villainous and up to no good. The end was action packed as any good crime novel should be with all the loose ends tied up nicely but not always predictably. I really enjoyed this book and can't wait for the next one to come out to find out what will happen in Grace's life and another excellent police drama. I would recommend reading this if you enjoy crime books, but perhaps read the others first just to get the background information and the first one Dead Simple was brilliant anyway and a must read in my opinion. Published by Pan. Paperback 566 pages. ...

Dead or alive?

Advantages: Another compelling read from Peter James
Disadvantages: Coincidences a bit too extreme

When a boat's crew members find dead bodies in the sea off Brighton, they are initially not surprised - many people choose to be 'buried' in the sea rather than in the earth. However, these bodies are different, because they have clearly been operated upon before death. Closer investigation proves that they are without any of their vital organs. Detective Superintendent Roy Grace is assigned to the case, but, not even knowing the identities of the dead people, he faces an uphill struggle. Meanwhile, in another part of Brighton, Lynn Beckett is distraught because her daughter, Caitlin, has severe liver disease, and, if a replacement liver cannot be found for her quickly, she is certain to die. Can Lynn find a solution outside of the NHS? If so, can Roy Grace stop her from doing anything illegal? I read a lot of crime fiction, but these ...

Review of Dead Tomorrow - Peter James

Shout

Advantages: Great for kids age 9-12 , easy to read , organised
Disadvantages: simple for above aged 12

After been a major fan of shout and not read it for a couple of years , I decided to see if I'd missed much! It was their new make over which grabbed my attention! I thought it looked quite childish but thought i'd buy it anyway. Although this magazine is aimed at 9-14 year olds , i would not reccommend a 14 year old to read it as it's rather childish. For example it covers about 4 pages just comparing celebs as to how alike they are. Each month a celeb is placed on the cover , then their interview is shown in the magazine, There are adverts in the magazine aimed at teenagers for example : Always , Tampax and new tv shows. It has gossip pages about stars that teenagers would like such as paris hilton , scarlett johanson and Jessica Alba. Shout lets it's readers take part in the magazine by printing their embarrassing moments and real ...
