It’s written by Rob Young who has an easy flow of narrative. You can almost hear his patient tones as you read one page, then go back again to re-read and understand as he guides you through the simple (!!!) process of building a website. He starts with the foundations as any good builder does then lays the bricks and mortar before decorating the finished product.
So the first chapter may seem simple to us Ciaoers as it’s all about that scary place the World Wide Web. You then move on to making a picture of your ideal life, where you live and with whom etc. In these chapters Bolles provides several web links where you can do tests to measure your interest and get career suggestions. Many of these are free, but the more extensive ones you will have to pay for. There is also a very useful chapter on starting yourown business. Again, there is no practical advice as such, no business plans or accounting services recommended but rather it examines the idea of being self employed to see whether this would be of interest to you.
The 7 chapters after this all handle the "What, Where, and How". This is solely concentrated on getting to know yourself and what makes you tick, through going through what skills you enjoy using, where you wish to use those skills and how to find the person that has the power...

Advantages: Maximum knowledge, minimal jargon. Disadvantages: Maybe not as comprehensive as larger books.

This information is also useful for people who don’t know all the ins and outs of the basic operations and uses of the Internet. I even learnt some new stuff here, for example what some of the online abbreviations stand for.
This is basically the largest section of the book in order to give enough detail and information on the wide range of Internet applications and uses, filling almost half the book.
PART TWO: THE GUIDE
This section is dedicated to actual web sites. It gives you information on how to find what you want, and covers some of the most popular sites for a range of purposes. Areas covered include search engines, other directories, email search, software guides, and Internet studies.
