Manufacturer's product description
Stephen Moss' "This Birding Life", (ISBN 978 1 84513 180 7), which Aurum published in 2006 (and reissues in paperback simultaneous with this title) was universally acclaimed for one of the most irresistibly beautiful and colourful jackets to grace any book that year. This follow-up volume features another such jacket by the doyen of bird artists, Robert Gillmor (whose linocut illustrations also adorn all the Collins New Naturalist books). The new book retains everything that reviewers liked about "This Birding Life" - its easy, good-humoured style, its combination of a wide birding knowledge with the gift of making things interesting for the general reader - and applies it to a simple concept. Stephen Moss began on 1 January 2007, to chronicle each species of bird as he was seeing it for the first time last year, and continued to do so until 31 December. He writes about what he saw, where he saw it, who he was with, what it made him think and feel - the little story of each birdwatching episode, be it goldfinches on his garden feeder, seeing hen harriers nesting underneath a bridge in Glasgow, or the extraordinary rescue of a rare albatross on a Somerset beach. The result is both a unique chronicle of Britain's natural history and a touching and funny piece of autobiography - a year of life measured out in birds.
Advantages: interesting, nice to read, not boring Disadvantages: ---
...I have one more novel that I´d like to introduce to you. It´s called "The diary of Ellen Rimbauer - My life at Rose Red". I´ve read this book in the English edition and don´t even know what it is called here in Germany, but I guess you don´t care about that anyway.
ABOUT THE AUTHOR
°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°
This is a bit difficult. On the book is written Joyce Reardon and an epilogue by Steven Rimbauer. In the book itself are no reverences to other authors. Nevertheless Stephen King fans actually know that the whole thing was kind of a "trick" of him and in the beginning people even speculated if he himself wrote this book, because the style is very similar to his own novels.
Meanwhile the real author of the book is known, it is Ridley Pearson, an American author of thrillers who workes as an author since the 70s. He...

Advantages: Return of the Feegles! Disadvantages: None!
...A Hat Full Of Sky.
“A Hat Full of Sky” is a “Discworld” novel but one that falls into the category of children’s books. Rather than concentrating on the Discworld that Terry Pratchett fans would be used to, this book can be read without too much of a working knowledge of the other books or characters. Though I would say you will enjoy it more if you read “The Wee Free Men” first.
This novel is a continuation of the life story of Tiffany Aching (11 year old witch trainee) and her sometime helpers (hindrances?) the Nac Mac Feegles. 6 inch tall Scottish Pictsies, who like nothing more than fighting and getting “Pished”. Both of who were given staring rolls in “The Wee Free
Men”.
Background,
In “the Wee Free Men” we are introduced to young Tiffany Aching (aged 9) and her first meeting the Nac Mac Feegles. She single...

Advantages: By turns funny, insightful and sad. Disadvantages: None
...For those who are not familiar with Monty Python or Michael Palin, Monty Python were one of the most successful comedy groupings of the late 60s / early 70s on television and went on to make a host of films and records. After this productive time, Michael Palin went on to such projects as Pole to Pole, Round the World in 80 Days and Sahara. He is now more of an author than a comedian, but this diary charts the beginning of his career.
The other Pythons were John Cleese - also famous for Fawlty Towers, Graham Chapman - a much missed Python, who was described by John Cleese as the best actor of the group, Terry Jones - who shares an interest in comedy with an interest in medieval history - hence his recent series Medieval Lives, Eric Idle - also a great musical talent, who supplied most of Python's songs, and Terry Gilliam - responsible...
