i like sports, sports and perhaps more sports. I like indie rock, you will begin to notice as i do more reviews of CDs. Currently there are only a few though, and a couple of them are terrible, actually, reconsidering that statement, they're all terrible

I have to admit that i find it a very difficult task to review and passforward my opinion to such a compelling piece of work. Understandably, to many people Dickens may not be of any interest whatsoever, but i have to disagree.
I am not a particularly accomplished reader by any means, and i did find myself struggling through the novel at times, but i can still easily respect the amazing quality of both the way Dickens planned an executed the novel. He wrote the novel over a long period of time, in short sections. I think that this is astonishing as you will see, when reading, that he manages to make subtle links throughout the novel back to previous occurances and thoughts. -------------------- A BRIEF PLOT -------------------- The Novel has a grim mood throughout and the main theme is one of RESURRETION, and RECALLING TO LIFE. Please understand throughout that i will be trying my best not to spoil any aspect of the novel for future readers and will therefore keep the plot very brief. Alongside the French Revolution and Dickens threading through themes of resurrection, we meet many characters who throughout the novel who i, and im sure you would aswell, felt attached to as the novel travelled forward. I suppose ishould mention that the two cities are Paris and London, and the characters mainly involved, link between the two cities throughout the novel. Rather than give a fluent plot which will spoil the novel for many, although not ruin as it would still be a compelling read, i will explain just a few happenings through the novel, these are mainly links which are excellently formed by Dickens: A letter is written by a prisoner which later returns to haunt him at a trial from La Force prison in France. There are trials for important characters and one of these, Charles Darnay goes to France to help a troubled prisoner, but does not for one moment expect not to return as and when he may have wished. With the ressurection, love and sadness of the novel, Dickens ends the novel superbly with Sacrifice, of which i will speak no further. The novel is a wonderful read and i would happily recommend to anyone willing to devote time for a classic novel from a astounding author.

I am a big reader but I have never read any Dickens. I have Great Expectations waiting on my bedside table but there always seems to be somthing easier/better to read.... eventually I will read it and if I enjoy I will give this one a try as well x

Never read that book, but since everyone is quoting it. Guess I will have to read it some time.
Advantages: Everything good about Dickens' style is displayed in a challenging and consuming read. Disadvantages: Perhaps starts a little slowly before gaining speed, very challenging in parts, but is rewarding.
