...all the various options for buying and decided to also have a look at the option of importing. However, initially I did not take the importing option seriously as the whole idea scared me a little. But whilst looking I chanced upon a site called “AutoSource” which specialised in importing cars from the continent, specifically Audi, BMW, VW, Ford, Seat and Saab. At this point I should mention that there seem to be a number of sites that have in some way got the name “AutoSource” and this can lead to great confusion. Advantages: I got insurance on my car
Disadvantages: They don't even bother reading emails + double your premium because of their incompetence.

...I had bought a replacement car when the old one went to that scrapyard in the sky, and was keen to find some value-for-money insurance. So, I went on a couple of comparison sites such as gocompare.com, confused.com and moneysupermarket.com. Some of the prices were pretty good, I guess since I have been claim free since passing my test in 1995, female driver, only doing the social, domestic and pleasure (i.e. school runs, grocery shopping, bill paying, ferrying elderly relatives about etc) so I decided to upgrade from Third Party Fire & Theft to fully comp. I had had a quote off the insurer I was with (Hastings) but they wanted £25 to change my policy and another £80 because I had gone from an N reg to a T reg. Hence, much cheaper to go elsewhere and tell them to shove it. So, the AutoTrader insurance was slightly better priced... Read review

...We were looking for a small quality diesel and had narrowed our choice to either a VW Polo TDI or Renault Clio dTi / dCi. After many miles and weeks we had been consistently dissapointed at all the Polos we had seen; all needed valeting, were generally odourous and had small problems that hinted at cars that the owner / seller wasn't proud of - not what you'd expect of a VW or its owner. One Polo we looked at was potentially the deal of the century but initial inspection revealed serious problems with the engine mountings which the seller offered to investigate whilst holding the car. The following morning he'd sold the car to someone else. Enter George Gibson Car Sales! Here is a man who does things the old fashioned way - the honourable way! At last! On enquiring about the Renault Clio dTi he had, he was both helpful and amiable... Read review
