I phoned them up just to double check with them as I couldn't beleive the difference to what I was paying,and they told me it was exactly right.
As soon as I came off the phone from them I got straight back onto their website and applied for their motor insurance.You see what they do is price check their insurances everyday just to make sure they are not being undercut,so the qoute they give you at the time you apply is only valid for that day.

Abbey are a fantastic bank that offer a lot of products under one roof.
Abbey offer a wide range of bank accounts, they have a current account which i have with them where i have a visa debit card, a cheque book and an overdraft on the account of £1000 although i have never used the overdraft and havent used a cheque for ages, you can pay in most stores through chip and pin with your debit card and use it all over the world at cash machines so this ... ...card and cheque book.
Abbey offer a student account for 18 years and over which has a debit card, overdraft and cheque book but only pays 1.5%.
The other option of a bank account with abbey is a basic account which has a cash machine card only, no debit card, overdraft or cheque book, this is the only option abbey offer to anyone on benefits or with a poor credit rating. This was the account i first started with with abbey when i first turned 18 ...

...advise against any involvement with Abbey National's recently launched car insurance division.
Having taken out policies for two cars, both fully comprehensive, I was shocked at how incompetent, the operation is. Abbey National car insurance is a self-contained unit run from offices in Liverpool. Essentially it launched too quick, before its adminstration was anywhere near able to cope with the demand.
Actual cover cost is very competitive, with ... ...I was connected to not Abbey National, but an external company they use outside hours. The person I spoke to knew less about car insurance than I do, and was totally unhelpful. I had to call again in the morning, and go over everything again, leaving my car in a vulnerable state overnight.
Direct debits, went uncollected for months on one policy, even though I called the company numerous times asking why? Getting through is also a nightmare, and ...

I have had my Abbey National car Insurance policy since June 2000. Having worked in Car Insurance for 15 years prior to having children I do know a fair bit about this subject and have had no problems whatsoever. The policy documents were issue quickly and accurately, the premium is the cheapest I could find anywhere and the cover is extensive.
I had to make a claim recently when someone (who chose to remain anonymous)hit my car whilst it was parked ... ...Abbey National claims line and that was the extent of the effort required on my part to conclude the matter.
I was called back within an hour by the local "recommended repairer" who arrnged to come and see the damage (at my home) the next working day. The repairer turned up on time,looked at my vehicle and arranged for the vehicle to be collected at my convenience. I was supplied with a W reg courtesy car(delivered to my house) and my fully repaired ...

Advantages: Quick and easy Disadvantages: None that I have seen
...reading the first opinion on Abbey National car insurance I was a little shocked.
I have to admist I haven't had to make a claim so far. From my fisrt initial call and through to now I haven't had any problems. The people I spoke to were honest and answered all my questions and queries I had. I had the documents within a couple of days and everything has been fine.
They were extremly competitive and gave me the best quote.

We just bought a new car and had to find insurance pretty quickly to cover the car that we could go and pick it up.
So after spending hours on the Internet looking here ,there and everywere to get diffrent quotes, and quiet honestly me beeing totaly stressed out by now and getting to the Point of telling my Husband he could go and jump and sort out his own car insurance.
I thought that I had a brilliant Idea, whatbetter to insure your car with ... ...one Roof easy paying, transfer your Deposit and get a cover note straight away.
How wrong i was....
We took out the insurance wich was not the competitivsed Rate around but as we thought the easyesd way.
Thruogh some unfortunate Circumstances the Car Deal fell through and we did not need the insurance after all,we phoned up explained everything and cancelled the Policy,the first Deposit had by this time not been taken out of our bank and we got ...

AbbeyNational is the most difficult bank to deal with. Their customer care is very poor and they are even rated as one of the worst banks.
When we decided to open another bank account we found Abbey to be the most conveniently placed. So my husband and I went to open a bank account with them. They seemed very nice and glad to have us as customers. The bank was very neat and tidy. I never realised that what would come later would put me off this bank for the rest of my life.
The problems started when I found only £30 in my account yet there should have been more money in my account. Abbey had not informed me that we had gone over the overdraft or that indeed they were going to take any money out of my bank. So later that evening I phoned the bank to see if I could sort something out, it took about half an hour to get in ...

Great Savings deals
I have been an AbbeyNational Customer of the Harrogate Branch for the last 20 years.
My experiences of AbbeyNational have all been very good.
I have held tax exempt savings with them since 1996 when I signed up for a TESSA of which I saved up to nearly £9000 over 5 years.
They have always been more than happy to offer good, sensible and honest advice on all there products what account was best for me to invest my TESSA capital and all the interest earned when it matured 2 years ago.
They recommended the TOISA (Tessa-only-ISA) to invest all the capital in and the cash mini ISA for all the interest from the plan of which I invested in.
I must say ISA's offer very good rates of interest in a time of very low interest rates in the UK.
The average cash and Tessa only ISA's at AbbeyNational offer 3 ...
