'A world of ideas direct to your door'...This is what is stated on the front of the catalogue - and it's true!
Yes, okay, you might think it's just another catalogue, and it probably is. It may not be everyones cup of tea, but I like it, so I want to tell you about it!
I first heard about Abound when I was stopped in the Street whilst shopping. The lady asked me to spare her a couple of minutes, and I thought - oh well, I am only window shopping, so why not? (Abound now has adverts in many magazines).
Basically, I am unemployed and can't afford to buy much from the High Street shops (read my op on Charity shops), so I thought that if I was accepted for this catalogue, many of my problems would be solved. Home shopping via a catalogue is also of great benefit to disabled/housebound people too.
About 3 weeks later I was delivered an Abound catalogue. Kettle on, feet up, dinner? What dinner? (points kids in direction of kitchen)!
It was full of clothes and shoes for the whole family, household goods etc - all the stuff you would expect to find in a catalogue. There is even designer gear in there too, much to the delight of my 17 year old son, who is mad on FUBU!
I placed an order within a couple of days, and received that a few days later. They will tell you when you place your order when delivery will be made. (Assuming that the goods are in stock, of course).
Of course, the prices ARE slightly dearer than High Street shops, but it does include delivery and FREE returns, so I'm not complaining. (Add on the cost of travel expenses, lunches, and the aggravation of packed shops and streets, and you will find that it really isn't that much dearer to use a catalogue)! Being able to spread the cost of clothing etc, makes it easier for me to buy, (and means the 'little darlings' get their pocket money)! I placed an order for about £250 which I repay at about £8 per month. Even I can afford that...lol!
The quality of the goods that I have ordered so far have been excellent. No problems with them at all, even after washing. I ordered a pair of trousers for myself and, being a typical woman, I wasn't too sure about my size :-/ so ordered 2 pairs in different sizes. I was able to return the unwanted pair free of charge (within 14 days) and the cost of these was automatically deducted from my statement. I was concerned that the Fubu jeans I ordered for my son might fall apart in the first wash, but no worries there either.
There are 5 ways in which you can pay.
1. Home Banking 2. Post Office 3. Pay online 4. Direct Debit 5. Use Abounds' automated freephone
Select Account Options.
1. Option 1 Pay your balance in full 2. Option 2 Choose 6 months interest opt-out plan 3. Option 3 Opt for minimum payment with interest at 29.9% (APR variable)
There are free returns within 14 days, and collection can also be arranged.
You would receive a detailed statement every month, so you know how your payments are going.
So far, I am happy with the huge range of products that Abound offers and the service that they have provided.
If you want to know more, go to www.abound.co.uk where you can shop on-line too. Nothing could be easier - shop till you drop without the sore feet, crying kids or moaning hubbys/boyfriends ;-) (I AM Jokin', you guys)!!
Advantages: Many ways to pay, value for money Disadvantages: hard to get through on phone, can overcharge
I joined Abound about a year ago after finding a mini catalogue in a magazine I was reading. I was surprised by the price of the clothes which I thought was quiet cheap for a catalogue. They have a wide range of women's clothes starting from a size 8 up to a size 26 for some items. They also have tall, petit and maternity clothing. They also do a medium range of men's and children's clothes as well as home furnishings, electricals and toys.
Around ... ...some personalised items from the Abound website but after I had checked out I realised that I hadn't been asked for the details for these items. So I phoned them up to explain what had happened but was told to phone back the next day as it can take up to 24 hours for an online purchase to appear on their system. I phoned back the next day they said they would cancel the order then reorder it. I thought no more about it until 3 weeks later 2 of each ...

Advantages: value for money, easy use of site, quick delivery, easy returns methods, good payments methods. Disadvantages: as with all catalogues you may have to send things back cause you have to order before you can try on!
...them can compare to abound. Abound is cheap and good value for money. I managed to buy a pair of levis engineered jeans, which usually cost £65 in the shops, I got them for £22.50 (£25 in catalogue with a 10% discount). And thats not all, since having my catalogue, I have bought so many clothes because they are just so affordable, even designer labels, there is so much to choose from and prices are great! It's a must have catalogue, beats your choice ... ...to this one! lol!
Abound also have a website www.aboundonline.com which is good too, save you phoning up and going throught the whole order process. It's made for eveyone and anyone to use.
All my delivery's have been within 48 hours, it just depends what time of day you order at. The good thing is that they think of everyone (deaf and hard of hearing), they have so many ways in which you can contact them:

Abound (www.aboundonline.com), the latest mail order catalogue. But do we really need more?
Basics: Abound catalogue comes under the GUS mail order company. Launched about a month ago.
Sells the usual: Clothes (women’s, men’s, children’s, sports), Electronics & household items.
My opinion:
I spotted the adverts in a few magazines, so last Sunday I decided I’d have a little look at their range online. To my surprise I spotted ... ...this, do I order something for free? As a web designer myself everything that goes on my sites (all insurance websites) needs to be 100% correct. If I get a interest rate incorrect, it matters to the customer. So when I found this I was very disappointed. I checked back 3 days later and the items were still priced at £0.00. So I did it… I ordered a few things, a cuddle doodles toy priced £0.00, a children’s dress up kit priced at £0.00, ...

Advantages: Delivered to your door step Disadvantages: High interst if you don't pay opt out
At this rate I'll run out of things to write reviews on lol!!!
Have you ever been dashing through town, trying to get all your shopping done, when you hear those terrifying words? "Can you spare a few minutes?"
Well this is what happened to me!!! The lady asked me did I have a catalogue? I of course replied no cause I hate having things on the never never. She asked could she take my details and send me a catalogue at no obligation. I stood there ... ...I don't want it.
Two weeks later as promised this catalogue arrived with a low credit limit £200 pounds. I had a flick through and chucked it to one side.
A few weeks later when cleaning, I came across the catalogue again. This time I had a proper look as it was coming up Christmas. There was I large selection of women's clothes to choose from. The larger range for big ladies, a Petite range for the smaller ladies, the office range which consists ...

Advantages: Can sometimes be cheaper for 'hard' goods. Disadvantages: Cheap, shoddy clothes etc.
...I have found Abound to be an unpleasant set of people if anything goes wrong - patronising, unhelpful and, worst of all, they add 'fines' to your account when they are meant to be sorting out the problem!
Don't touch them with a bargepole, unless you've got the time and energy to spare to deal with them by letter - the only way you'll be able to avoid spending vast amounts of money on telephone calls to them.
And e-mail? No hope. They promise to ...

Advantages: great food and non-food bargains if you search Disadvantages: no credit cards taken
...What a great shop Lidle is, They are so often thought of as a 'cheap' supermarket selling low quality products and this is so wrong.
Sure they do sell a cheap range along side there other stuff but so do most supermarket chains, but look a little deeper and you will be amazed at the choice and quality you can find in store.
Lidle are a German owned group I believe and you can use that to your advantage, products more common in main land europe abound at Lidles, huge selections of Olive oil, unusual cheeses and pickles are but a few. Their fruit is always good, espically the bannanas and pine apples and with the latter at just 70 pence you can go wrong.
What I really like at lidles is the non-food dept, Every week a compleatly new range comes in ,every thing from clothes to portable sat tv systems you just never know what will turn...

Advantages: Funky & stylish Disadvantages: Can be expensive
...-end, particularly the larger pieces of furniture, such as sofas. I haven't personally bought any large pieces of furniture - I go more for the funky accessories, such as picture frames, vases etc, which tend to be priced higher than other stores but are worth it for something a bit more unusual.
My latest purchase was a chunky dinner set in a gorgeous deep turquoise colour. Just perfect to match my decor, & bang on-trend like everything else in the store. Perfect that is until it came to loading it into the dishwasher.....the large plates turned out to be larger than standard sizes & don't fit! Now I can't fit much at all in the dishwasher! Very disappointed, but I'll persevere as I do love the colour... Be careful when buying at stores such as this & IKEA - continental sizing abounds & can be very different to what our appliances...

Advantages: Mega cheap, good variety of items, well known brands available Disadvantages: Good brand items sell out quick, can be very busy at peak shopping times
...edition, a couple of leather belts. Multipacks of Weight Watchers snack crisps.
I'm a fan of their cleaninsing wipes, the range includes mature skin/exfoliating & intimate wipes & often on offer so you can get 3 for £1 absolute bargain and fine on my potentially sensitive skin.
I avoid weekends as your sure to get knocked into several times but hey I can live with a mild dose of frustration if it means I get some bargains and they really do abound in here.
A cautionery point - items such as washing liquid, bleach etc can work out more expensive at a £1, than to buy them at your usual supermarket so shop wisely and weight these things up its easy to get caught out due to the vast amount of genuine bargains. Even with that in mind I can't recommend the place highly enough.
Well done if you've read this far I hope it was...
