Around about 6 months ago I had a car accident with a van driver and it was not my fault. My Focus had quite extensive damage to the offside of my vehicle and it was undrivable.
Accident Exchange rang me about 3 hours after the accident and took some details down - I didn't really expect anything of it and didn't really know who the company were.
The next morning I had somebody turn up with a brand new focus for me and I was told that I wouldn't have to pay a penny. Result!
Accident Exchange went about establishing liability for me as my insurance company were truly useless. The other guy disputed liability in the incident which made me very angry but Accident Exchange persisted for me and I was found not to be at fault by the other drivers insurance.

I can only assume that they are able to keep going as a viable business by charging the other side for the cost of the car. Like a rental fee.
I was worried that there was a catch and they were going to say that i'd damaged the car or something but they were fine throughout and I was really pleased.
I think people should be more aware that they are entitled to a like for like replacement after accidents. Especially ones where they are not at fault.
Advantages: Supply quality courtesy cars to people on third party insurance, great customer service Disadvantages: may not be as helpful where liability is an issue
We had an accident last year where another driver pulled out the wrong way at a one way street and wrote our car off he admitted liability at the scene. I was only insured third party only so when my insurance company asked if I would like a courtesy car i jumped at the chance! They put me thorough to accident exchange who took a few details etc. I must admit I was skeptical: A gentleman arrived at my address the next morning with a 1 year old vauxhall ... ...I had to fill out minimal paper work, I was told no matter what happened I was covered and I didnt have to give the car back until two weeks after the payment for my car was recieved. We ended up keeping the car for nearly four months with minimal contact from them. One morning I went to the car to find someone had dented the bonnet and I thought that would cost me but one phone call to these people and they said it would be taken care of. I suppose ...

I have been buying cars at auctions for well over 5 years now. I've made a few mistakes and also some cracking deals. I'll try to pass on my experiences to help those thinking of buying at auction.
The first question you should ask when looking at possible cars in an auction hall is, why is this car here? There can be a number of reasons.
1) A lot of cars come direct from leasing companies who generally only keep cars for 3 to 5 years. These can be great buys because a registered dealer will have serviced them on the dot, and the car will have been maintained regardless of cost. The only things to look out for here are worn interiors and poor paintwork/accident damage.
2) Quite a lot of part exchange cars are put through the auctions by dealers and car trade centres. For them it’s an easy way to get rid of unwanted ...

out that the vehicle had previously been in a bad accident and had been purchased by frosts shoreham damaged, and was repaired badly in their bodyshop. the body shop manager admited to us that alot of cars they sell are accident repaired vehicles.
we have now part exchanged the vehicle with chandlers bmw and lost £3200 and glad to see the back of it.
If you are thinking of purchasing a used car From Frosts vauxhall or Frosts4cars as they call themselves please think again. Since I posted this on the webb I have had over 60 e-mails from other people who have had a nightmare with them.
beware of frost vauxhall shoreham !!!!
Try stevens vauxhall crawley or horsham if you have to have a vauxhall. but definatly NOT frosts4cars ...

Advantages: Comfort, Huge load area, Decent handling Disadvantages: Horribly slow, and not that great on fuel
I bought my first ever estate car slightly by accident - I was trying to sell my sisters People Carrier for her and a chap wanted to part exchange. It also happened to be my first Renault, but with a full service history and an engine running sweeter than a Cadbury's Flake on a Sunday, I thought I'd give it a go. Whoops.
It's not that the Laguna is a duff choice - far from it. But, the one major reason you'd buy this car is for the expected MPG of a non-turbo diesel, combined with towing ability (at the time I had a Hot Dog van I used to drive out to Lowestoft every Saturday).
This thing was slow. On two seperate occasions I got over taken by cyclists, and once by a carrot hitching a ride on the back of a three legged mouse. I swear I even got overtaken by myself once. If this car had been around in the 19th centuary when someone ...
