Natwest Student Account - Good features, poor service

Advantages: Good interest free overdraft, good freebies (student railcard)
Disadvantages: Poor customer service, slow transactions

...repuation of the bank Natwest offers a competitive interest free overdraft, with up to £1250 in your first year, and has been voted the UK's number 1 student bank for first years. Whilst I have never even used my overdraft in my 2 years at university so far, I like to know that it is there, in case of emergencies such as my loan not coming through. The Natwest freebies were good - a 5 year young person's railcard, which offers 1/3 off all train tickets. ...
...at my university, which made Natwest seem like the logical choice, as it is always easy to get cash and pay cheques in, without having to go into town. It also means that there are staff there whenever you need assistance, or need to ask questions regarding your account. Finally, the repuation of the bank - I had always considered Natwest to be one of the major banks, and assumed that it would therefore have a good reputation. However, this did not ...

Advantages: the acout is easy to your
Disadvantages: is is not easey to youse

...had a problem with my HSBC account, the staff are without fail friendly and helpful - especially when you are a skint student worried about going over your overdraft! I have found their student banking service excellent. The most useful part I have found is the Switch card - also, they do automatically approve you for a Mastercard which is useful because it means you get a credit rating. HSBC gives first year students a £750 overdraft, which increases ...
...The main attraction of the HSBC student service was the free 4 year (yes, FOUR YEARS!!!) railcard. This is worth £80 to start with. This can be a lot of money - I reckon it's saved me AT LEAST £70 this year! Other banks might give you cash - usually about £50, but it just disappears into your student loan or other money, and you just forget about it. The rail card is definitely the best incentive I've ever seen. Another huge plus was the forms I ...

Barclays Additions - STAY AWAY FROM THEM!

Advantages: Eventually Gets Fixed - "If Its Covered"
Disadvantages: Slow, Confusing, Time Consuming, Lack Of Communication, Unprofessional.

Im writing this review to express my utter disgust at the level of service recieved from them, case 1 happened around beginning of feb when i noticed rising water from the mains outside, My first instinct was to call united utilities which i did but they told me it was gonna be about 1 week before someone comes out to have a look at it so I agreed to this, A couple of hours later I remembered about my additions account and had a quick look at the ...
...pipes so I gave them a call and after what seemed like an eternity on the phone I was told the job had been passed onto a firm called RAPID DRAINS & MAINTENANCE (or something like that) and they would call me to arrange for them to come out, True to their word they called back and said someone would be coming out tonight around 9pm (strange time i thought as it was dark outside) anyway i waited and waited and surprise surprise nobody come so the ...

Premium Bonds

Advantages: Safe Money and chances to win
Disadvantages: No interest paid on the investment.

...a block.I have played the National Lottery ever since it started and won very little, an odd ten pounds here and there, but nothing to get excited about. I am now putting the two pounds I spent every week in a jar and as soon as it mounts up to about £100 I shall buy another small block of bonds in the hope that one day perhaps I shall get the win of a lifetime. ...
