Accurate Accurist

Advantages: Great looking, strong, many functions, practical
Disadvantages: Could have been available in more colours.

and the watch itself is a nice touch. Functions: As mentioned above, there are quite a few functions. My personal favourite is the countdown timer (good for when you are doing exercises or cooking). The light function for the LCD display is good, but when it?s absolutely dark, you don?t need it as the watch has ?glow in the dark? markings and they really are quite bright. Durability: Not only does the watch look strong, but it feels strong too. I?ve dropped mine a few times (accidentally) and have banged it against train doors (accidentally) and I still don?t have any damage internally nor visible. The crystal display cover is superb. All of my previous watches (other makes) had scratches after a few days. This watch doesn?t have a single scratch on it and I rarely take it off. Ease of use: I must admit that you have to read ...

Review of Accurist Gents' Quartz Chronograph Watch

Nice watch but short lifespan

Advantages: Nice watch, Looks good, Good Spec
Disadvantages: Short Lifespan

I had this watch bought for me as a 21st birthday present from my father. It is a nice looking watch, with an analogue display as the main part, and a small digital display aswell. There are also three small dials which show a 24 hour time, a 12 hour time, and the mode you are in. It has a countdown timer, a chronograph, date and time etc. and it can give you the time in 30 different countries. I was impressed with the spec and the appearence of the watch. And it functioned perfectly for about three years. Then it sort of stopped. The anologue stopped moving, and the digital display froze on one time. I took the watch back to Argos where it had originally been bought. They were helpful and sent it back to the manufacturer, explaining that I may have to pay for repairs, since it was out of warranty. I grudgingly accepted ...

Review of Accurist Gents' Quartz Chronograph Watch

Packed in after 4 years too...

Advantages: Absolutely fabulous watch...
Disadvantages: Until it breaks!

a watch repair centre and they confirmed that the battery was dead and so I bought a new one (a fiver..!). Then, about a week-or-so later the watch stopped again (at 16:46). Very strange I thought - so obviously I trooped back to the watch repair centre to demand a new battery or a refund. The battery they had supplied was fine. So I asked them to have a look at the watch and let me know what the problem was and how much it would cost me to fix. I was told that all Accurist watches were "closed" and that the watch would need to be sent directly to Accurist - there was nothing the repair centre could do. Problem - Accurist would charge me to look at the watch (about 50 quid if I remember correctly for this type of watch..!). I figured since I had 4 years out of the watch - 120 quid was not bad and I'd move onto another watch ...
