I’ll be honest, I have always used standard CRT monitors up to my last one which was 17” I have very recently purchased this Acer AL1711 model and initially was very impressed by it. It was affordable and looked good too!
Then after only two weeks of using the monitor it broke! For some reason it just decided to switch off after a quiet ‘Click’ noise. After checking all of the obvious potential reasons for this I came to the conclusion that it was faulty. After speaking to some very helpful and polite people it has now been collected by the manufacturer for repair.
I guess only time will tell if they fix the problem and send the monitor back to me in working order and I do not know if this problem is specific to this product or whether all TFT monitors are less rigid that the traditional type.Only time will tell I suppose but I have to be honest and say that I won’t be recommending this particular model to any of my friends.
If you have had a different story concerning this model, I would be grateful to know.

More info on the monitor would have been a bit more helpful :-)

As they are repairing your monitor I look forward to an update on an all round review of the monitor and its functions. As Barry said you have only detailed the negative aspect and you may have just been very unlucky and when repaired you may think it is wonderful. If you do consider moving this review to the Buyer Beware Category I would be able to help with this if you require it. Fionaxx

Sorry for the rating but you have only detailed a fault rather than reviewing a monitor. Perhaps you review may have been better placed within the buyer beware category. Should you decide to review the monitor, let me know and I will be happy to rerate..
