It Was great a while back but DO NOT buy it now 25/07/2008

Advantages Good specs, cheap, reliable, easy to use
Disadvantages Old, feels and looks cheap,

I bought this screen a while back for about a Hundred pounds. i used it to replace my old CRT which was taking up a lot of space. THE SPEC At the time it had a good spec with a good luminance of 300 cd/m2. this is still quite bright for the standards of today and is brilliant for desk work and surfing. to tell you the truth it is really good with your games console and is great to watch movies. It has a quick 5m/s response rae for all you game geeks out there and a clear enough resolution of 1280X1024. this is extremely good because it is hard to find this high resolution on HD televisions ... more

Quick review of Acer AL1716Fs by jodile2002 26/02/2008

We needed a replacement monitor fairly quickly and after a long search this one came up. Being an Acer monitor (I've had a couple in the past) I'm very pleased with it, if you need a budget TFT then this one offers more than most. I'll definately order more as we need them as they offer very good value for money. Easy set-up. Good clear screen. I particularly liked the option to change the brightness, clarity etc depending on what was being viewed. Excellent value for money. less

Advantages Value for Money
Disadvantages No DVI, You get what you pay for.

This Is an extremely good value and economical entry level screen. although it may not have the sleek looks of the more expensive manufacturers such as Samsung and Sony you do definitely get value for money. The screen itself has a good resolution and closely rivals its higher end counterparts. One of the most impressive features of this product is that it has a 3 year warranty which is something many other manufacturers do not offer, Acer's customer service however is not the easiest to deal with and they will always repair it rather than replace if they can. I purchased this product 6 months ago. I think it is great and I would definately recommend it. True, I have not had it for long but so far so good. less
