Advantages: Cheap, Auto restore Disadvantages: Heavy, Bulky

As I have mentioned in several of my opinions, I was in West Africa for a year. Whilst their I was using a Compaq Presario 2200 computer with a Acerview 34T UVGA 14” monitor.
When I returned back to England I brought back my computer but left the monitor behind as it would have ... ...felt that it was time that I went for a newer and larger monitor. This is not to say that the old one had given me any problems. To the contrary it served me very well and was working properly and continuously during the full year that I was overseas.

This is not to say that the old one had given me any problems. To the contrary it served me very well and was working properly and continuously during the full year that I was overseas.
The main reason that I went for the Acerview 77e monitor was for the price. I got mine for PDS155.00 (hundred and fifty five pounds). I don’t think you can find a 17” branded monitor at cheaper than this price.
One of the impressive features of this monitor is something they call the “ikey”. This is an “Auto-Calibration” key and restores all default and optimal settings. The standard controls are there like the Contrast, Size, Vertical and Horizontal, and Brightness. If you mess up whilst doing the changes manually then simply hit the “ikey” button and everything will restore back to normal. This helped me a lot as I can never seem to get everything right no matter how much I try.
The maximum resolution is 1280 x 1024. I would not recommend you to use this maximum, as the colours tend to bleed. Also the text is not sharp at this resolution. Reducing the resolution to 1024 x 768 helps greatly with these flaws.
One of the problems with this monitor is its size and weight. It really does weigh at ton. I think all Acers on the whole are very heavy. It is also very large at the back This might be a problem for some people who like to shift their PC around or who do not have much space on their desk or table.
If you work within average limitations then this is the ideal monitor mainly due to its price. If you need advanced graphics display’s then I think you had better pay a bit more and go for another monitor.
Overall I am very extremely happy with it and it is serving my purposes thoroughly.
Advantages: Good Display, Cheap Considering Other Brands Disadvantages: Very Huge and Heavy, User Support isn't that good
