Manufacturer's product description
Acer Aspire 1200 series notebook has been designed for employees in small businesses, as well as for the self-employed professionals, who need a complete workplace wherever they are, and who want to use it occasionally for leisure and entertainment. It is also ideal for private users who do not want space-consuming PCs, but still need an easily transportable computer for home multimedia, access to the Internet, and other private applications. There is a growing need for a different kind of mobility. The ability to transport work, rather than create it on the move, is an emerging requisite for developing SMEs and professionals alike. The Aspire 1200 notebook PC provides an easily manageable workspace, with a strong emphasis on quality work, as well as multimedia center, wherever you stay. The Aspire 1200 combines a large screen, generous power and performance, full multimedia functionality, as well as excellent connectivity in a single compact solution that occupies less space than a desktop PC, providing both mobile professionals and home users with unbeatable practicality.

Advantages: Light, Fast and Big Screen Disadvantages: Not terrfic Battery Power
...The Aspire series have always been a good choice for me. Light, fast, and powerfull, Acer have pulled out all the stops in making this cheap, fast and reliable.
The Aspire 3502 series is definately NOT an exception. Boasting a 1.4GHz low-heat processor, 512mb RAM, a 40GB hard drive, and a hell of a lot of extras on-disc, the 3502 is a fast, zippy machine definately worth the £500 I bought it for.
The big, spaced-out keyboard offers a good amount of room for the touchpad, and the keys are spaced out well. Also, the 15.4" screen boasts a great ability for watching movies, and alongside with the Intel Celeron M, it is a brilliant machine for any buyer.
One thing that is a downside, the hard drive space. Acer kindly split the HD into 2 parts, one for the operating system, and one for data. Called "ACER" (the C drive) and "ACERDATA" (the...

Advantages: light and easy to carry Disadvantages: none
...I received my Acer laptop a few weeks ago; I expected it to be quite good as I have had an AcerAspire tower for the last 6 months now. The laptop comes with Windows Vista basic pre installed on it, along with a trail version of Microsoft Office 2007 and 3 months trial version of Norton's Anti Virus. You also get the full version of Microsoft Works that comes with Works Word Processor, Works Spreadsheet and Works Database. It did not come with a web cam but I do like the Acer Empowering Technology that come as standard on all Acercomputers/Laptops, which include Acer Arcade, Acer Game Zone and an Acer Tour that shows you how to use the Empowering program. This model came with an Intel Celeron Processor 540 (1.8 Ghz), 80 GB Hard, DVD + RW Super multi writer, and 1GB DDR2 memory, the hard drive tends to be split into 2, your C: drive...

Advantages: Quick, good form factor, all in one functionality Disadvantages: Bulky, not a solid feel, driver support can be a little slow
...As a long time Acer fan, it is good to know that Acer continue to produce excellent value, no nonsense PCs that have both innovation and performance.
The Aspire series continues that line, with an overall good package of functionality, performance and aesthetics.
This is a good solution for those of you who want grunt, without the need for constant mobile agility. It is more than adequate for most uses, but will suffer slightly in the "games machine" stakes compared to some of the other high end machines out there. Nevertheless, you cannot complain too much when you factor in the price.
Reliability is generally good, Acer support is efficient, provided you have done your part in registering promptly and having all your details on hand.
All in all, a worthy investment....

I bought mine on ebay for £360, I needed it for university study and it's working really well for small documents like word and excel and it will also play some games well, mainly Unreal Tournament online :-)
The disk space of 60GB is plenty for me.... more
I for one, absolutely love the look of this acer. The bottom of the laptop just looks really cool, and the top looks ok too. One only criticism on the look, would be that the plastic at the tip of the screen is a little thick, but then again it does have more
