Advantages: Fast, Light and sleek Disadvantages: None so far!
...Compared to my old 333Hz desktop, this machine goes like the wind! In my opinion it is a fast, reliable and ultimately portable computer with all the features you would expect from a normal desktop PC.
Spec is as follows:-
Mobile AMD Athlon™ XP processor 1400+, 14.1" XGA TFT display, 128MB SDRAM, 20GB HDD, 24x CD-ROM, wired LAN 10/100, 56Kbps modem, Ni-MH battery, Microsoft® Windows® XP Home
The 1.4GHZ processor makes it fast enough for any home or office applications and it is good at multitasking.
Computer Buyer tested eight notebooks based on applications that a user would normally use on a desktop, such as Word, Excel and CorelDraw. All manufacturers were graded on features, ergonomics, portability and performance but the reviewer commented that "If you want a PC for surfing the net and doing some word processing...

Advantages: Good quality with a cheap price and have a good service Disadvantages: There are too much sound from the Fan of CPU.
...I bought this Laptop--AcerAspire1200X from China 4 months ago. I'm glad that I bought it. Because it brought me a lot of convenience and entertainment.
The configuration of it as follow:
14.1" XGA TFT LCD
Intel Celeron processor-1GHz
128MB+128MB(original) SDRAM
20GB+10GB(original)Ultra ATA/100 HDD
24x CD-ROM
Windows XP
Price: £909
Then I spend £8 in buying a USB HDD Box, and I put that 10GB HDD into this box in order to make a mobile USB HDD. I can use this Mobile HDD to copy large files from other compute without Intranet.
To be honest, this laptop is not a high-configuration laptop, but it can run the program we use in general.
There is a pity in this laptop is When you run some large program with the XP system, the speed will be a little bit slow, and if you chage your operation system, such as windows 2000, it'll speed...

Advantages: Bright and clear screen, Spacious keyboard, which is fast and resposnsive, convenient and clear (sometimes drags on some laptops) mouse pad, Comes with Windows xp, Very fast with a 2.6GHZ Processor, and 512MB!! Of RAM, DVD Rom is better than my DVD Playe Disadvantages: Delicate (but which laptops arent?), Quite heavy @ around 9 pounds (nearing a stone), Only comes in the same old same old colour of metallic grey
...for it to be upgraded to a maximum of 2048 MB of ram)
So, now imagine 512 MB. The only example I can give you, to show you how well it handles itself, is that, I had Adobe Photoshop 5.5. Running, 4 or 5 Netscape windows running, MSN messenger, my email in Internet explorer, and also trying to play a game with a my friend (age of empires 2) in a window. The laptop didn’t even moan, whinge, cry, pop up loads of warnings. Nothing. Just went on like a breeze.
This has also got to do partly with its AthlonXP-M 2.6Ghz in built processor, which is an absolute beast of a processor. A lot of people tend to shy away from Athlons, I even have in the past, but they really are just as good as P4, or any other processor on the market at the same speed.
* Ergonomics *
Well, it is a handsome looking thing, but at the end of the day, some people, like me, would...

I bought mine on ebay for £360, I needed it for university study and it's working really well for small documents like word and excel and it will also play some games well, mainly Unreal Tournament online :-)
The disk space of 60GB is plenty for me.... more
I had wanted a laptop for a long time but had never been able to justify the cost when I already had a desktop computer. With the prospect of planning my wedding and spending hours on the internet searching for suppliers etc, I wanted to be able to do... more
After knocking a full cup of tea over my laptop (and destryoing the insides completely) I claimed on my insurance and was sent an Acer Aspire 5315. It costs around £300 to buy in the shops, placing it at the bottom end of the price range for laptops at... more
I for one, absolutely love the look of this acer. The bottom of the laptop just looks really cool, and the top looks ok too. One only criticism on the look, would be that the plastic at the tip of the screen is a little thick, but then again it does have more
