    Disadvantages Disadvantages Feels flimsy, doesnt have the reputation of other brands.

    For those of you who are new to the laptop market it can feel like a bit of a mine field. All those different offers, and if you are not completely computer literate, then all the numbers and new words can be baffling. If this is the case, then the easiest way to describe the Acer Aspire 1682 is to simply say, "If you are working o a budget, but want a laptop that can do pretty much everything that a normal, everyday person would need, then this is the one for you.     Advantages Advantages Fast, cheap, very user friendly, can be an alternative to desktop.

    Disadvantages Disadvantages feels hot, appears to be delicate, crappy sound card and speakers

    It's been six months now since I bought. Never had a problem. I like to play games a lot. This laptop could handle most of the latest games at the highest detail levels without any compromise in performance. I think this itself would explain how powerful this laptop is. It gets quite hot, but never hangs. This machine can probably handle anything. The keyboard is very good, the keys are placed just like in any coventional desktop keyboard minus the numpad.     The Acer 1682wlmi, is a perfect notebook/laptop for home users, who don't want a big heafty computer, although the centrino is only 1.6ghz it works as fast if not faster than a standard p4 3ghz proccesor, ive found this when trying tasks against a p4 processor, im told this is because of the way it works. The 15.4" widescreen is great for watching movies in bead wherever you want. The multifuctional dvd-rw drive makes the drive future proof and gives you the ability to make dvd's that will work on almost any dvd players. Could be slightly lighter though.     So here i go, my first review! I brought this laptop 11 months ago now and i am still enjoying the experience. The battery life on this laptop can last for what seems a lifetime. The processor along with the pre-installed ram will give some desktops a run for their money and it can still play the latest games on the beautiful big widescreen monitor. I sometimes forget im carrying this laptop as its so light and slim for the amount of features and parts it comes with.
