::::INTRODUCTION:::: The Acer Aspire 5100 series notebook computer comes with a built in webcam, Microphone, Bluetooth, WiFi and loads more, with i will try and explain in-depth on this review. The Model i have from the series is the 5101AWLMI. The Laptop was excellent value for money, costing just £365 from EmpireDirect.co.uk (using discount codes, price includes delivery), and i must also praise Empire Direct for there excellent service and promt delivery, i ordered Saturday Afternoon and it arrived Tuesday morning, just like they had told me it would!
::::WINDOWS VISTA HOME PREMIUM:::: Windows Vista Home Premium comes built in with this laptop. To me it does look like MacOSX, but its got that 'Windows Effect' ;-) Like it's cheaper, compatible with more stuff and is more widely used. I like the Aero interface, just a click away in the left hand bottom corner and you can see every window just like that! It also has Windows Media Centre on it, so you've basically got Windows Media Centre and Windows Vista on it! Windows Media Centre is fantastic, allowing quick access to Recorded TV Programmes (Arial and Software required), watch DVD's, Listen to Music and even edit DVD's and Home Movies.
::::LAPTOP SCREEN:::: The 15.4 inch TFT Screen on this laptop is, in one word, Fantastic! OK, so mine has 2 dead/stuck pixels, but you'd have to be picky and stare at them to notice! The Quality is stunning for the price, vivid detail and excellent contrast from this little machine that is the Acer 5101AWLMI. Oh and make sure you only use a cloth, as fingers do make the screen look messy...
::::SOUND QUALITY:::: Sound quality is nothing special, but is exceptable for the price. There are two stero speakers on this front, and you can control the volume using short cut keys on the key board or by clicking on Volume control once logged in. Watching a DVD or TV gives pretty decent sound, especially considering it's a laptop and i don't know much about sound quality on Laptops as i've only used 2 (this being my 2nd!).
