Advantages Advantages Fast, great-looking and a gorgeous bright screen for viewing dvds

Disadvantages Disadvantages Standard battery and not great for games

This is a medium sized laptop with a 15'6" screen and a gorgeous dark-blue and fairly robust exterior frame. Acer are well known as being a cheaper alternative brand from the Sony's and Packard Bell's of the world, but have a mixed reputation in terms of how well they deliver when it comes to their laptops. I'm pleased to be able to say that the Acer Aspire 5536 lives up to the hype, and is a well produced and easy to use laptop. Advantages Advantages Perfect for browsing, Screen Size, Keyboard

    Disadvantages Disadvantages Battery, Weight, Outdated

As this is an updated review, there does not seem to be a lot of point in re-reviewing what I have already gone over because technology has caught up with us all and there is far much more exciting computer equipment out there which is smaller, cheaper and better. However, for those of you that want to get a cheap, second hand laptop/notebook, then maybe this is the one for you. At least, after a couple of years before my last review, I can still safely say that this one still functioning very well despite its problems with Windows Vista. Processor I bought this in the summer of 2009 in time ... more

Advantages Advantages Well made, good quality - good product

Disadvantages Disadvantages I can't be sure if the fault was accidental or a fault in the product, but prefer to think not

My daughter is in her third year now at university, we couldn't really afford it, but in time for her going off to university we offered to buy her a new laptop. After considerable research and advice, we opted for this Acer model. We bought it from Tesco online, it cost around £360 at the time, as I recall it was part of a special offer. It was a considerable upgrade at the time from anything we had at home, this lappy was running Windows 7 for a start... a few Windows versions ahead of our other computer.. My daughter got on really well with this lappy, but due to her course and funding etc ... more

Advantages Advantages 15.6" HD screen, good audio quality, price.

Disadvantages Disadvantages short battery life, temperature

Acer decided to add an extra Aspire Gemstone Blue model laptop. I was lucky to get a hold of him as my friend purchased it, and I was using it for a while, he asked me to install some software and configure his Vista so the notebook going to work properly. The first touch was a surprise I expected it’s going to weight more than 2.8 kg, it’s a really light notebook, and thanks to its glossy sapphire-blue Gemstone cover and intricately textured palmrest it’s a pleasure to touch it. I opened it and, I have thought nothing new inside, which is actually good because you don’t need to get used to ... more

The computer is very good for its price as it has a fast dual core 2.1ghz processor (which means you have 2 processors both each at 2.1ghz speed = 4.2ghz of processing power; VERY fast). It has really good graphics where I was able to easily play the latest games, such as Fifa 10 on my laptop. The battery life on ... more
