The Acer Aspire 5633WLMi combines: Dual core processing, reasonable memory capacity resulting in a great value for money and great performancevlaptop, it is mobile, compact and looks good.
The 15.4" TFT screen is mid-range for laptop screen size, it has good resolution range.
The hard drive capacity is 100 GB which is adequate for most, enough to store many programs as well as much music, movies and games.
There is DVD rewriter is useful, though I personally find myself not using it that often, however it is a necessity.
Acer's empowering technology enables easy access to frequently used functions and settings, however I mainly use it to adjust the power saving options.
I find the battery charges up quite quickly, but it doesn’t last long later when on high performance setting, but it’s easy to adjust it to a lower setting, basically it lowers the screen brightness and CPU performance to enable the power last longer.
The graphics card is mid range, I wouldn’t recommend it to an extreme gamer, it won’t run the latest First person shooters with full graphics settings by any stretch, but it copes with most mid range games graphics-wise, it allows your DVDs to run smoothly.
The card reader it handy, if you have external memory cards from your mobile phone or digital camera you can connect it straight to the laptop, I find makes the process quicker and easier.
It has the new Operating systemWindows Vista, there are a few bugs which are continually being worked out, some of the new features are annoying, but it is essentially the same as windows XP ‘nothing revolutionary new about it’, you may want to do a compatibly check to make sure your existing software will work. Some of my programs didn’t work on it, but I was able to download update patches to fix them and they work fine.
In conclusion I say this is really good value for money and I would recommend it to someone who is looking for a general media laptop, its adequate for gaming, capable of business needs. The graphics and processing power is adequate for those working with CAD software etc.
