This is my latest port of call in my quest to find the perfect laptop, at least for me anyway (Yes I am a sad, lonely computer junkie with nothing better to do) and this has definitely got to be the closest yet. I would at this point like to point out that most of the laptops I have reviewed are returned once I have had a go; I don't have some weird collection or anything (I'm not that sad, well not yet anyway). Anyway, on to the laptop:
Look and design
The Acer Aspire 5735 is unusual in that it is all-black in colour, but the effect is quite good and the laptop is quite good-looking. It is pretty lightweight and its size allows it to fit into most bags and containers (I never was a fan of the case that comes with laptops; I just shove it in my backpack).
Function
It is capable of coping with high performance tasks such as gaming very well. This is due to the 3GB which (cuts out nerdy speech). It also has an Intel GM45 graphics card (a fairly recent one) which also allows it to do gaming, videos etc quite well. As well as fun tasks like gaming, it is also good for word processing and design programs at it is quite good for running several programs at once without crashing or slowing to any real extent. This is due to (another nerdy speech I am not going to bore you with). It comes with a built in webcam which works well, even in low light and comes with pre-installed optimisation software. The laptop has HD screen resolution. It also has a very good Wi-Fi connection which rarely, if ever, cuts off and is very fast. Unfortunately, it's time for a negative, and the laptop's only one, the battery life pretty much sucks, and often struggles to make 2 hours.
Overall
A great laptop if you will be in reach of a charger for most of the time you will be using it, but not good for those who like to work (or play) on the move a lot. If it wasn't for the battery life, I would call this perfect.

How helpful would this review be to a person making a buying decision? Rating guidelines
(+) cool and quite robust trackpad, good display,64-bit windows 7 (-) few connectors, dell drivers only, not realy for gameing (most models), finger print prone!
I am rather puzzled by the statement that "most of the laptops I have reviewed are returned once I have had a go"!
Do you have a shop or access to something similar?
You may not have "had a go" for long enough as the gaming power on this laptop is barely adequate. I have a powerful desktop for that and use the laptop for more sedate tasks.

I find it very hard to believe that you are a 'computer junkie' given you lack of detail in your review and your blatantly apparent lack of knowledge. You sentences barely make sense "this is down to the 3GB which..." It's quite clear to me that you don't even know what effect the extra ram has on a computer performance and thus didnt comment. You also say that the laptop is good at gaming due to the "Intel GM45 graphics card" anyone with any computer knowledge will tell you that intergrated intel graphics chip sets are notoriously bad for gaming. You'd be lucky to play 3 year old games at decent framerates with that, let alone todays titles. You say you review laptops and return them. I disagree. It appears to me that you write reviews on laptops based on specifications rather than actually having the laptop in your physical possesion. This isnt exactly a good way to review but techincally it is possible. Unfortunately you don't seem to have the slightest clue about computers. I could have written a better review based on specification than the review you've come up with. Thanks.
Advantages: Great laptop, Durable, It's a fantastic laptop for a fantastic price. Disadvantages: Ports are on the wrong side of the laptop, It attracts finger prints, ever when your cleaning i
