DESIGN

This is an ugly fugly laptop, I'm serious!
When you first see a laptop, what do you see? The answer the laptop itself and you better hope that this one was closed because on the exterior it looks like an average laptop with an average glossy screenback but when you open it it up all you see is beige beige beige. Its rather off(white).
As I manage a chain of computer superstores I can pretty much review any laptop that takes my fancy and after spending half a day on this one I can get a pretty good Idea on it and peoples opinions.
Everyone I asked instore said that if they were to purchase a laptop on looks alone they wouldn't buy this one.
Did I mention the size of this laptop? Its rather big if your wondering which adds to the ugliness. It also wont appeal as portable.
Another thing which I find hilarious about this laptops design is its dummy button.
If you ever have had a car which doesnt have all the extras you will find a few blank buttons. Yes this has one too.
Enough about the looks though and I apologize to anyone who likes this laptops appearence and dummy button.

PERFORMANCE

This laptop is designed as an entertainment PC and it is one of the first to feature the Santa Rosa chipset from intel. For those not in the business that is the processer and it is the 4th version of the Intel Centrino processers.
By buying a laptop with Santo Rosa means your getting a bit more than a flash processer, oh yes. By buying this laptop you will get the newer form of wireless internet (N) and a Windows Vista Ready graphics card ( although I strongly recommend against windows Vista as it isnt very good) This is also a Dual Core processer meaning alot faster management of applications.
We didnt test the battery but I'm told it can do 130mins during ordinary day-to-day tasks.

GRAPHICS

I tried playing a few games on the Acer and I was pleasantly suprised.
Although the speed wasnt a fast as on really high end machines the graphics speed was acceptable and would run most games without problems.

MEDIA

The Acer is a media PC and it has a great screen, although it is a little to glossy. The screen is 15.4Inches standard for a laptop of this caliber. The sound quality is very high due to the fact Acer included Dolby Surround in this laptop. Something which I havent seen before.
This laptop is perfect for DVD's

EXTRAS

Like mentioned earlier the Acer is fitted with superfast wireless with the inclusion of 802.11n. It also has bluetooth, a card reader and a camera.

CONCLUSION
Although really ugly and not too portable the Acer 5920 has some great features for a good price.
I would probably reccommend this PC as it has some great media applications and is designed with everything in mind.

Yes I know of it. Acer do make good computers but I think they should forget the car manufacturers designers and take some ideas from apple
