Acer are now the biggest selling laptop company in England and have even over taken the previous well known laptop manufacturer Dell for its laptop sales. The main reason for this is simply because acer knows what the public need, they make great laptops designed for the publics needs but best of all they cater for everyone’s costs. =you just simply cant get a dell with anywhere near as good specification as an acer for the same price, or even close to that price. Now I’m not saying that dell laptops aren’t good quality, in fact they are and a lot of them are far better than ... more

Advantages Advantages classy design, 250GB hard drive, core 2 duo processor, acer technology

    Disadvantages Disadvantages large design

After researching laptops for months and months to find a suitable model to use for university, i settled comfortably with the acer aspire, as it has many advantages compared to other laptops with similar specifications. For my course i need a lot of memory, and so the 250GB hardrive was a big attraction for me. The laptop in fact has two separate drives each with over 100GB of disk space. This allows you to separate your data appropriately, for example i keep all of my media such as music on pictures on the D drive while i install my programmes and keep important data on the C drive. The ... more

Advantages Advantages Latest technology and very cool aesthetics makes me want to eat this baby.

Disadvantages Disadvantages Not everything is perfect. The Aspire 5920 comes as close as I have seen

It takes a lot to get my lazy backside to write a review online, in fact I have not done this before, but I am so impressed with Acers Aspire 5920 I just can't keep quiet about this machine and have a strange urge to shout from the rooftops all about its virtues. I was not looking for a new laptop, as I have a decent PC in a box at home but after playing with a Acer 5920 in a shop the other day, I have for the first time in my life fallen in love with a bit of hardware! I am now saving like mad and intend to get one in the next few weeks. And to those pundits in the mags slagging of its ... more

Advantages Advantages Good notebook computer, supports upto 4GB RAM, useful multimedia buttons.

Disadvantages Disadvantages Graphics performance isn't too great.

I got this a few years ago with pre-installed 32bit Windows Vista, and a slightly older version of BIOS. It came with the onboard intel shared graphics, which I don't particularly like. There's an option to get an nVidia Gefore 8600M GT graphics card upto 512MB, but I haven't found any reviews to suggest that to be a huge improvement to the graphics, although I imagine it'd be a lot better than the onboard shared one I got. The only problem is, its quite an expensive card to purchase, an average price of over £100. I replaced the default slow hard disk, which couldn't cope with some of the ... more

Advantages Advantages Cheap, looks great, quick, robust

Disadvantages Disadvantages sound a little quiet, no bluetooth on some models

The first thing that drew me to this laptop was the look. Opinions seem to be split on this subject, perhaps more so than the majority of other lower priced laptops out there. But personally, I think it looks fab! The white keyboard and trim make it stand out from the crowd a bit, offering a little more than just your plain black, black, black. It's robust too. I've had a couple of lower end Acers in the past and the build quality was not the best. This is fine though, no bounce in the keyboard, solid hinges, no wobble on screen, I like! I was after a nice cheap steady away laptop for the ... more
