I’m a very outgoing student currently studying Biology at Manchester Met University. I'm an all round person, meaning I learn new things from others and from my own mistakes and I am prepared to keep doing so... roll on my future :)

16" widescreened HD Intel Core 2 Duo (2 GHz, 667 MHz, 2 MB Cache) 3GB Memory Blue-ray reader/DVD RW/DVD/CD 250GB HDD 5.1 surround sound built in (yes build in!) Wireless ATi Mobility Radeon HD3650 Graphics Card -dedicated 512 mb Graphics Memory
Good things:
First thing, the fingerprint reader, fantastic idea, very easy to use - following on screen instructions sets this up from the beginning, who ever swipes their finger, it signs them onto their account.
The small panel on the side is like the ipod functionalities, if you've used the turn wheel on an ipod, you'll find this a doddle, it has touch sensed buttons for your media, play, stop, pause, all link to which ever media player you are using, itunes, winamp or windows media player.
Keyboard layout
- usually you have your normal annoying keys on a keyboard, with the keyboard on this acer, from the start they feel easy to push, you do make some small mistakes, but after time typing is easier and quicker, the keys are softer than other laptops, so no annoying tapping noises and the layout style looks nicer than most laptops.
Monitor
- looks much better than my old laptop, which is only a year old, very impressed!
Performance
-very fast, suitable for gaming with most modern games, very quick at general tasks. Very good for internet use, youtube etc... usually im doing about 6 things at once...currently i have 7 internet pages open, one playing music from youtube, i am importing CDs to iTunes, im speaking to 10 people on msn (on webcam to 2!) and im using windows live mail updatig every 2 minutes checking for emails - good eh!
- very impressed with this! lasts over 2 hours on "normal" and even longer "power saver" - very impressed.
HDD
- very large HD, some space is taken by the recovery, but it is needed sometimes! Stores lots of music, videos and work.
Weight/size
- suprisingly quite light for the size of it!, nice big monitor but thin dimensions. very good and sleek looking
Wireless
- not dropped once, good range, usually sit in garden and use laptop, when sunny. At uni i pick up about 5 different wireless networks, when all my flatmates pick up just 2/3. Also bluetooth enabled. Both with easy switch on/off instant switches at the side.
Build in 5.1
- well i didnt know it had this, till i was playing spiderman and i could hear the grunts behind me, very surprised! The tube subwoofer is very good, i listen to house/dance music so I enjoy this, very good quality sound, very impressed with this!
Vista
runs very well on here, fast, sleek and pretty, not had a single problem yet
Blu-ray
- very good feature! got a few films, no problems, just like watching a DVD - works on windows media player also.
HDMI
- for those that have a HD TV, a HDMI cable simple would plug into the laptop and then into the HD TV and you have a working blu-ray player, OR a second monitor at FULL HD output! - impressive!
Flaws
Too heavy and big to be portable, still is portable though, but it is intended as a desktop replacement so that shouldn't be an issue.
Lights - i dont seem to find anyway of switching the side blue (despite VERY nice) off at night whilst charging, it can get annoying at times.
Very scared to either drop it or scratch it, seems delicate, even though i have thrown my keys on the top a few times and not scratched it once, perhaps i love it too much!
Final says
Very impressed - such a good price for so much
Would be most suitable for a more demanding person, or perhaps someone who wants to play most modern games with no lag. online games or even watch movies in to quality.
Advantages: Great Design, Powerful components, Blu-Ray, good value for money Disadvantages: heavier than comparable notebooks, makes 15.4" screens look ugly
