If it's sheer power your after then this is the one for you, It's good for gaming and making music, watching films etc with a HDMI output to link to the TV having dual monitors or just to use to watch a film on the big screen with full HD. Looks very futuristic, with touchscreen panel at the side to control volume and playback on windows media player. A high quality cam built in, 4 USB hubs and not to forget security it can be set to only log on by swiping your fingerprint over the reader. you can also set it so that a different program or website would open depending on which finger you swipe; assign a program to each finger and swipe to open that program, very hi-tech.
I've not had problems with viruses as it's a very clever pice of tech, (the one I have is 18.4") with a numeric pad.
Overall, it's a powerful piece of gear but heavy at the same time; not to carry long distances but useful if you use multiple programmes or use a lot of memory this laptop can handle it.
Acer Aspire 8930G is a great gaming note book i ever seen it has 18.4 inch display and it a Core 2 duo T9400 Cpu at 2.53GHz and 6MB L2 cache, and Geforce 9700M GT turbo cache graphics card that can address up to 1791MB of memory. this is Montevina platform, that is Centrino 2. ...etc ...I LOVE my Acer Aspire One. It is sooo easy to use, and reliable. I was a little concerned about using Linux rather than Windows, but there isn't much difference. Linux uses far less memory and is intuitive to use. Memory can be upgraded easily with a micro SD card - I got an 8 Gb from Amazon for about £5 and just put in the slot on the side and Hey Presto 10Gb of memory! I found the track pad a bit small so bought a Logitech wireless mouse ... ...I can play games etc. Internet connectivity is fast using a router. Start up to connection takes less than a minute, main home pc (windows xp)takes at least 5 minutes to boot up including anti virus etc, no such problems with acer. It doesn't seem to need antivirus software or firewalls etc. I have been using it for 7 months with absolutely no problems... ...
