Advantages: graphics and cheap at the price Disadvantages: memory upgrade
...supports multi window viewing using acer gridvista. For external displays it has svideo (tv) and VGA port. It also has modem ethernet ports. although it is also wireless.
I have had no problems connecting to the internet and can surf very quickly.
It has a 5in1 card reader on the side,(that takes sd, mmc, ms ms pro and xD) there is a small piece of plastic in there that looks like a wheel. At first I had problems pulling this out at it is hard ... ...uses realtex audio and the sound comes over incredable clear. The inbuilt microphone is very good and you do not have to lean over the laptop for it to hear you. I have been using the vista voice recognition that comes with vista and I do not need to speak loud for the mic to pic up my voice
It is not a slow laptop and is incredable quite.
It has 4 usb ports and although I have heard rumours that vista does not recognise pen drives I have used ...

I bought this Acer laptop for £500 around a year ago now and so far it has served me well. When I originally took this laptop out of the box, my immediate thought was how light it was for its size. The set-up was quick and easy and was simple to use with the number pad being added onto the side of the standard laptop keyboard, making full use of the extra space the 17" widescreen display gives.
However the more I use this laptop and the hard drives ... ...table.
The built in Acer Empowering Technology software works excellently and has a partition for a system restore should anything go wrong. I have used this feature once but it worked well and restored it completely to the state it was when I first removed it from its packaging. It features its own encryption software that I have not personally used but have been told by one of my close friends who also has this laptop that it works well and secures ...

Advantages: Massive HD screen with Crystalbrite Technology Disadvantages: The CPU fan vent is on the right so using a USB mouse can get abit "hot"
...a very nice encryption program Acer had developed that lets you encrypt any files you want and even disable you hard drive, dvd drive, bluetooth, wireless and many other hardware devices on the laptop after a certain period of time and needs a password to reactivate them. This is good for business documents and files that may be open to attack from hackers. Its got a extended keyboard that has a num. pad and a few buttons along the top that you can ... ...if i can max out a 170mbs(ish) on a 300mbs Belkin Pre-N1 router. Overall, this laptop must be sold at parts price because there are laptops worth £1500 *cough* Vaio *cough* that do not come close to value, quality and proformance as the Acer Aspire 9301AWSMI single core AMD Turion ...
