Advantages: Everything but the battery life and portability Disadvantages: battery life and portability
...I have had this laptop for 1 year now and it hasn't let me down yet.
(+) Amazing laptop. Fast processor, lots of ram, lovely graphics. I use it for many different things, ranging from listening to music and surfing the web to intense graphic design with adobe photoshop to playing quite demanding computer games (even some of the newer games play very well even though it is a laptop.)
(-) Its quite a demanding laptop and so the battery doesn't last quite as long as it could. But this is a powerful laptop and not that portable so if you buy this you be similar to me where its used as a desktop replacement for the majority of the time and then every now and then you go outside without any cables.
Overall i would definitely recommend this laptop. If you buy the acer extended warranty as well then you'll be guaranteed a good laptop for 3...

...The AcerAspire 5612WLMi offers the advantages of a Intel CoreDuo processor, the T2300, combined with 1GB of RAM and an ample 100GB hard disk, and of course a DVD-RW and Wireless networking. Coming in at a budget price.
Packaging
The box for the 5612 is of a simple design and the laptop is very well packaged within. It is securely fixed with polystyrene to hold the laptop in position and the manual, driver cds and power supply contained well.
Setup
Once removed from the box the first thing to do is to charge the laptop. When turned on for the first time an Acer walkthrough takes you through the setup and registration. An opportunity is provided to create a backup disc that will take the system back to its factory settings if problems are encountered later on.
Performance
The Intel Duo processor combined with 1GB of RAM allows...

A great buy!
Having used computers for years but never having bought one of my own or being very 'technically' minded I had no clue what kind of a laptop I needed or wanted. Basically I just wanted something stylish to use the internet on at home! I more
