The Acer Aspire M1640 is a Intel Core 2 Duo processor. It is a great home computer, and for the price it is an amazing bargain. The built in quality is very good, its not at all loud and if you are a student this is an ideal choice.

It comes with a keyboard and mouse which can be wireless I have found, it can run HD video easily, no jumping or jolting which is a big plus. Runs Windows Vista which works ok. It requires alot of RAM which makes this computer lag a bit. Personally i would have preferred Windows XP but i wouldnt count it as a huge down side.

It is great for browsing the web and small-time gaming, meaning with new games it might not perform as well. If you wanted to play newer games i would suggest upgrade the memory 1GB more because of the Vista lag and to make the computer perform better. You get 800 MHz of Data Bus Speed which is good for the money you spend with this computer.

You get Microsoft Works 8.5 with it. In my experience Microsoft Office is better because the programs on Microsoft Office are more user friendly. But with Office you only get a 60 day free trial installed which is irritating.

Overall, in my eyes you can't get more for your money. Again is a good home system, great for students and a good computer to have.

If you are looking to save some money, try building your own computer! It may sound tricky, but search for some videos and how-to clips and you will find out how easy and money saving it can be. Welcome to Ciao!

Hi and welcome to Ciao! Seems like a bargain at that price - it's amazing how much they have come down in the last 12 months. I would have liked to have read more though. Maybe you could go through each part of the specifications detailing what they are and what that means towards the overall performance and therefore suitability to certain tasks. Let me know if you add anything and I will take another look. Hope you enjoy it here!
