5 Stars Acer Aspire One Netbook D260-A Review with images 31/08/2010
    User recommends the product

Advantages Advantages Looks good, feels good, performs really well. (Much better now the RAM has been upgraded to 2GB)

Disadvantages Disadvantages None that I have found so far.

I purchased one of these after researching and using many different makes of netbooks. I also carry out computer repairs, so it was easy for me to know which brands were more reliable than others. For £229 I got myself one of these little beauties in black. Pictures don't do this netbook any justice, it looks much better in the flesh, just visit a store that has them on display to see what I mean. Now down to the nitty gritty, how does this netbook perform. Well, was I surprised or what, the Intel Atom N450@1.66GHz processor does it's job remarkably well. I was ready to upgrade the RAM but ... more

Advantages Advantages Slimline and easy to use.

Disadvantages Disadvantages Can't change desktop background.

I received an acer aspire one for Christmas and have been really impressed. It is really compact and easy to use. I have also been really impressed with it's performance-it's really fast and slimline. It would even fit inside a regular sized handbag! I personally do not need a DVD drive so it is perfect for me. There is a webcam on the product which I have not used yet but have went on to explore what it was like. It seems to be of quite good quality so very useful for talking to friends and family in different countries etc. One thing I don't like about the product is I cannot change the ... more

Advantages Advantages Good looking, very portable, easy to use

Disadvantages Disadvantages Not sure about longevity!

I bought my Aspire One on a recent business trip to Canada. It is a beautiful little machine, feels good and chunky and has everything a small brother or sister to a desktop should have. It's speedy enough when doing all the things one loves to do; sufing, writing, calculating and the like and it's certainly a treat to carry around. Is it value for money? Well, that's a good question, since nearly all the net books I came accross cost almost exactly the same amount. In the end I was swayed by word of mouth - a friend said "you can't go wrong with an Acer!" Job done! However, after five months ... more

Advantages Advantages Portability, user-friendly, long battery life, clear screen

Disadvantages Disadvantages No optical drive, no bluetooth connectivity

In my opinion the Aspire One D260 is a very useful and versatile net book. It is stylish, yet practical, easy transportable and could even fit into a reasonably sized handbag. I was considering purchasing a kindle and an ipad and with the Aspire One net book, I have both in one. The benefit I feel of the Aspire One net book over an ipad, is that the screen is better protected and the keyboard is more user-friendly. I think that it is so beneficial to have a media-centre or a mobile office in a piece of equipment that weighs a little more than a Cosmopolitan or Men's Health magazine. The uses ... more

Advantages Advantages Great for out and about and very lightweight

    Disadvantages Disadvantages None so far

Bought this netbook a couple of days ago for my daughter, she wanted a netbook as opposed to a laptop as she is only 9 and found laptops too heavy. Really inpressed with it. Have found it to be quicker in response than I expected. The screen is a good size and actually bigger than I imagined. The keyboard is good and very responsive. My daughter is really pleased with it and to be honest I have used it as well rather than turning on my desktop. We bought the purple one (very girly) but other colours are available. Very easy to use and user manual preloaded just in case you are not sure. There ... more
