The Acer CP8660 digital camera is Acer's first camera to be equipped with Anti-shake DSP (Digital Signal Proces-sor) technology that overcomes image blur by compensating imperceptible hand movements or the motion of a moving subject. Anti-Shake technology helps achieve the sharpest image possible thanks to electronic image stabilization. Further Specs: With More than 8 Megapixel resolution, the Acer CP 8660 finely reproduces even the smallest detail, giving sharpness and clarity to every shoot. Such resolution is recommended for large prints (up to A3 format) and high-resolution image applications.
Advantages: Lightweight good images Disadvantages: None so far
...I I have not owned my Acer CR-8530 for long. A matter of a couple of days, in fact, but my initial impressions are very favourable.
Despite being an 8 mega pixel digital camera, it is small and lightweight. I paid about £200 for the camera, but it was bought through a special deal to encourage workers to buy computer equipment for their home use, but to buy them through work, with the money taken out of your salary every month. We bought a new Acer laptop (review later!), Office XP, a memory stick and the camera.
Despite being lightweight, the Acer CR-8530 has a very sturdy feel to it. Unlike some of the newer digital cameras, the Acer CR-8530 actually looks like a camera, meaning that it is relatively easy to hold and to use. Which is more than can be said for some of the new digital cameras, sad to say.
It also uses a Lithium...

Advantages: Good screen ,easy to use, excellant pictures, good battery life Disadvantages: Non that are worth mentioning
...I purchased this camera as a cheap second camera for my twelve year old daughter to use on our holidays.I was surprised how easily she got the hang of it and could produce quality shots everytime. It comes with a 64MB card which gave about 55 pictures of good quality. There is a CD included which when loaded onto the PC enables you to modify, catalogue and burn CD,s of your photos. The screen is 2.5 ins and is excellant .I wanted a camera with a Lithium Ion battery and did not expect to find one on a camera at this price. This camera can easily match a camera at more than twice the price.Excellant value for money.I have no hesitation in recommending this camera to anyone....

Advantages: Compact ,low price, excellent image quality, solid construction, ease of use Disadvantages: No spare batteries, abysmal online customer support
...I have had one of these for a couple of months now and found the camera to be excellent value for money. I bought it from a well established web retailer who have more recently raised their price of this item considerably and in particular since they appear to be running out of stock.
The downside, a very big one is that neither the retailer , Acer UK or Acer Global have responded to any online communication with regard to spare or replacement batteries for this camera. I and others have trawled the WWW and cannot find one anywhere. What a shame.
I would love to have been able to give this camera a 5 star rating but sadly I can only give it 1 star due to the battery situation and lack of customer support..
I am beginning to wonder if lots of people out there are going to end up with an 8 megapixel disposable camera!
UPDATE as at 10...
