"Which came first, the chicken or the egg?" This is a question that many will argue about forever. However the answer to the next question is far simpler. "Which came first, my addiction to Ebay or my Digital Camera?" The answer of course is my addiction to the Internet auction site Ebay. I know that it's a tipsy turvey way around but after listing a few items on Ebay I quickly saw the potential of owning a Digital Camera so that I could photograph my wares and increase my saleability.
And so I began my research and before long I was wondering where to buy such an item. The answer of course was staring straight at me…from Ebay. I paid £34 for an Acer CS-5530 Digital Camera, not brand new but only used a couple of times.
When it arrived I was immediately impressed. It was very small and compact and surprisingly light, it looked very neat and modern and quite expensive for a camera that normally retails for no more than £150 brand new. I had done my research well and I was not disappointed, The Acer CS-5530 is one of the cheapest 5 mega pixel cameras on the market. Yet it is light enough to fit inside your shirt pocket and you wouldn't even notice that it was there. The metallic body gave me the instant comfort that this was a good quality product, and the buttons were very firm. Having never owned or even used a Digital Camera of any type before I liked the idea that there were very few buttons. I must confess that I am usually too eager to bother to read the instructions and after a bit of playing around I was soon up and running.
Taking a picture soon proved to be very easy. You simply open the lens guard and half press the shutter button before pushing it down fully. Depressing the shutter partly automatically focuses the lens on your subject. After the button has been fully pushed and the picture has been taken , a small green lamp flashes and the picture you have taken is displayed on the monitor screen. From here you can view your image, zoom in for a better look and store the image if you are happy with the outcome. If you are not satisfied you simply select delete and start again.
The picture quality was very clear and sharp. With a maximum resolution of 2548 x 1936 I was later to discover that the photos could easily be printed onto A4 size paper without any pixilation. Summary of Features
