This acer has a massive 120 gb hard drive, this is just a bit more than what you would expect to be given in a quite a simple build like this is, so this is great for those of you who need the extra storage space. The screen on this travelmate is ultra sharp, as most are nowadays, and the new technology of these screens are just making them better and better. Because this is a travelmate, and is made for business people, it comes with Microsoft windows vista business built in, this is great as you get some software and many other features not available on other editions of vista. ...I recently purchased the acer aspire 9301 and so far i have been very impressed with my shiny new gadget. I picked out this model as after trying other ones that were available including the more expensive sony viao i decided that by buying the viao i wouldnt be gaining anything just wasting money on a fashion accesory. The Acer offers everything that you could possibly want and more and comes with a much more modest price tag. BASIC DESCRIPTION The 9301 certainly looks the part with its sleek silver and black exterior shell, 17 inch crysral brite tft display screen and a fabulous built in camera which swivels 225 degrees which allows the user to photograph themselves or someone sitting oposite them and can be used both for still shots and as a webcam. This is not something that is exclusive to Acer and the vast majority manufacturers operate the same policy with regards to memory configuration. ***************** HARD DRIVE: ***************** The hard drive installed installed is 120Gb Ultra-ATA/100 @ 5400rpm. The hard drive is more than adequate for every day use. Even when I have put several hundred photo's and files on a PC I have yet to use more than 80Gb. The extra storage space is useful if you use the laptop for DVD editing (which my laptop has coped with ease) . The read / write speeds are pleasantly fast, when saving large excel files or photo's there is no sitting back and waiting while the hard drive whirs away for ages... Read review
