Acer Hard drive 146 GB

Advantages: Cheap, good performance, easy to install
Disadvantages: Power button too touchy

...Bought this computer for the gf. It (along with Vista) was very easy to get up and running. Only issues have been with the operating system and the power button. The OS has run VERY well out of the box (so kudos to MS on that), but it is definetely NOT XP. The power button is easily hit if which is rather annoying. Advantages: very fast
Disadvantages: none, really!!

...travelmate 7512's hard drive space. They probably upgraded this to 160 GB because 80 GB wasn't really enough for most people. However I must say iv never been able to fill any laptop of mine with over 160 GB of data, however there may also be people out there who'll go through 160gb easily. If you do need more storage, you can easily use memory cards by pushing them into the laptops 5 in 1 card reader, which reads any of, SD Memory Card, Memory Stick, Memory Stick PRO, MultiMediaCard, xD-Picture Cards. Also you can easily burn data onto disks using the travelmates DVD±RW (+R double layer) / DVD-RAM - integrated compact disk player, and burner. Its great to see this acer has a 17 inch screen too, seen as a lot of other acers only had 15.2 inch screens. Another extra feature this laptop has is its built in webcam. Advantages: Quick transfer speed,
Disadvantages: Fairly Bulky

...drives spindle speed is 7200 rpm. This is just the speed at which files are processed and transferred to and from the hard drive. So the higher the spindle speed the faster the process and transfer of data. You can buy this very hard drive for £55 at the cheapest, but maybe you will be able to find a cheaper deal on Ebay. Although not many people buy seperate hard drives, they tend to buy a whole fully tested and working PC. Computer technicians tend to buy these hard-drives individually in order to increase the existing memory capacity on their PC's. Acer provide reliable hard-drives so there is no need to worry on that basis. Thats all i can say really.
