Advantages: 40GB of Storage, Easy to use, Works with all USB compatible Operating Systems, Price Disadvantages: Loading time at startup. International version is better than US version.
...The best MP3 player I've owned. If you patch it with European or Korean firmware, you'll lose the DRM feature but you will be able to wach movies. The price is very low compared to the IPOD and it has great compability by supporting WMA, MP3, OGG and WAV music files.
The player works like a generic USB harddrive, and is therefore compatible with all operatingsystems that support this feature (MacOS, Windows and Linux does).
The only problem with the player is the startup time, when the player is full (40GB) it takes over a minute to load, this makes the 40GB only useful if you have about 20GB music and 20GB large files.
The US version of the player comes with charger, USB cable (can be charged via USB) and stereo headphones (medium quality)...

Advantages: Sound Quality, Cheap on ebay and big hard drive. Disadvantages: Battery time
...of this battery means that the battery will slow considerably during it's life and will age even when it isnt charging so it will need to be replaced more often than regular batteries.
Whilst there are many players that will give you a better playing time there arent too many for the kind of price range that this Acer is in. So it is one of the leaders in the storage per pound scale.
...Hard Drive...
This is what attracted me to the Acer in the first place as most of the other players around the price were for 4gb players and I wanted something more like 20GB. This hard drive means you can store around 5,000 tracks from either Windows Media Audio or MP3 files.
This size hard drive will satisfy most people but I will be looking to get one with an even bigger hard drive when I get my next player as I have a huge music collection on cd and pc combined...

Advantages: Big Memory, Can hold other files and programs Disadvantages: Bit bulky, out done by Ipods
...and error solved my problems. The mp3 case makes the unit incredibly bulky but it does feat a flip over lid with a magnetic thing, handy if you want to protect the unit .The casing on the head phones, the greyish bit, was prone to falling so i left it offf. they look like a cheap version of the creative headphones.
But it is a handy unit, you know where it is, can be bulky occasionally but its useful. It could have more features on it, currently there is voice recorder and music player but a radio would be very helpful. Im not sure why they have given me a mini disc, i dont think it fits in to the computer...where can i put it?...
