Advantages: Small convenient, stylish Disadvantages: none
...Go online anywhere!
This PDA is great you are able to go on line from anywhere in the world due to this new function it has called IEEE 802.11b wireless LAN. All the technical stuff makes me dizzy but that is a very good feature.
It also has a built in Bluetooth device these are most common with the mobile phones and enables you attach a device to your phone, and an ear piece to your ear so you can speak in a hands free and wireless manner. Within this device what happens is that you can transfer information from the PDA to a mobile phone of computer stored on the PDA. Its handy saves having to transfer data manually.
This little machine also has a processor for scrolling though on line sources which is very good it works without any problem, although you have to bear in mind the information you are looking for, you can't download...

...or use skype. Also if you look on the web you can get a bluetooth portable (fold into pocket size) keyboard for arround £30 or £40 and you can get a LAN SD card (to use in WiFi zones) for about £30 and basically make the PDA into a laptop that fits in your pocket (though without the typical windows applications and the DVD or CD reader/writier). I use it to write papers on the train and watch movies (thanks to a pocket full of £10 1GB SD cards from amazon kept in a credit card sized SD carry case that you can get almost anywhere) when I get bored. Seriously, get this PDA you won't regret it and your wallet will thank you. It's a PDA built for the long haul.
Also, for those of you who plan on playing a lot of media on their PDA, the acern30 runs windows mobile for pocket PC (2003) and uses either windows media player or pocket TV...

Advantages: lightweight ,does the job Disadvantages: poor build quality
...My two month old Acern30 just died sat on my desk in it's proporta armoured case (this is a nice case). I returned it to expansys who returned it to Acer they said the reset button that is well recessed inside the case was damaged and therefore the warranty was void. This is nonsense.
This does not come with a cradle which is a great minus point, the cable is very flimsy and the metal contacts were bending before the thing died on me. I will say it ran the software I needed it to run although this was not very demanding. The machine is light weight and slim
So beware Acern30s are liable to self destruct, or perhaps it is the build quality
my experience of reliability really does overshadow any plus points I can make...

Advantages: Good wifi Disadvantages: Terrible dvd/cd burner which will fail after a few uses. Fan will fail too
...The Acer Travelmate series, particularly the 36xx range (ie 36829 with M processor is probably the worst computer on the market. After less than 10 DVD burns, the DVD burner failed. After around 2 months the cd/dvd drive stoped working completely (reading as well as writing disks). After 18 months (today) the fan is making horrible noises, and will need to be replaced. The battery life is less than 2 hours. Furthermore, and this is very important, customer support from ACER itself is zero. I ordered a 'rescue disk' by phone (none was included in the package), priced at 50 euros. It was sent recorded delivery, cash on delivery. It never arrived because they did not bother to send it. A terrible computer. A terrible company....
