Hardly exciting is it network cable. The only thing that really intersts me about network cable is the things that come along it at high speed to my computer.

Considering that the function of the network cable is to get porno, arriving from the internet via my boradband router, to my computer screen as fast as possible, it is quite an important item. Most people just go for the cheapest, which is a shame considering how much is spent on an broadband connection over a year.

According to the BT engineer that came to fix my broadband 90% of the total signal loss goes in the last 100 meters. If you loose too much of your signal then this has a massive effect on the speed of your connection.

What I am saying here is that skimping on cables is really a false economy if you are paying over £200 a year for a broadband connection then is it really worth saving a fiver on a cable? this is why I always go for a branded cable.

I choose ACER cables as they were recomended to me by a IT proffesional (you know those people that wander arround work looking at computers and moaning about microsoft), and that I know the brand well, no other reason.

The cable itself is suitably chunky and looks like it will stand up to a lot of abuse. Which the cables I purchase have over the last year since I ot broadband. This sbuse consists of being trod on daily and being attacked by hoovers and kittens (who are now cats).

I am happy that I have not need to replace them with over a years worth of use and abuse, and at a cost of around £1 per meter I can't complain.
