...dear folks
recently we broght a ACERPD113P DLP projector from Synergy Information management Services, Bangalore on 27th April 2006 for Rs. 57,000.
Eventhogh the product specifications said, its a portable model, we just used in the board room for internal presentations and trainings, but alas! within 45 days, the lamp burst!!
it was sationery and in the middle of a presentation in the board room it blinked...giving some noice from inside....
We called up the dealer... The real horror started from then...
first the dealer reluctant to take the machine back and check, he was asking to carry it to ACER service centre. when it has taken to the centre, they diagnosed as lamp broken and put it under physical damage!! the easiest way to avoid the warranty commitment. eventhough they agreed on a 90 days warranty for the lamp, the ppl...

Advantages: cheap..if it had a warranty, portable Disadvantages: Warranty not honoured, bulbs blow in rapid succession
...The unit itself has a fatal flaw - its eats bulbs for breakfast !
But even more sinister is Acer's blatant non-honouring of any of the 2 year warranty that remains on the unit. After the 1st unit was replaced in the first week, almost 2 years of faithful service mine then ate 3 $230 bulbs in a month ! The first I paid for the 2nd (which died a week or so later), was covered under warranty, (which then died a few DAYS later) the third Acer tried to extrort ANOTHER $230 out of me.
I gave up and got a Panasonic PT-AX100U with 5 years warranty for $3000 which is BRILLIANT. Too bad Acer - you've had enough of my cash.
Their solution to my problems ? I could pay a 2nd amount of $234.00 for a third bulb or go to the ACCC. Nice work...no thanks.
The unit's performance whilst working was quite good but it's unmerchantable nature makes...

Advantages: Looks good, sleek finish Disadvantages: Did not work, very poor service
...As my old computer was on its last legs, I purchased the Dell Dimension C521 in February, and then began what seemed like a never-ending series of problems. After purchasing over the phone (as they do not have store), I got my order within a few days, and was initially pleased with my Processor and 19” flat screen. It looked sleek, and I got it just in time for the new windows Vista upgrade. It worked fine at first (i.e the first few hours) but the following day, it just refused to turn on. I tried switching it on several times, and the ‘on button’ on the screen just flicked green-then amber continuously. Not being technically savvy, I rang Dell for assistance (I paid extra for a three year warranty). To cut a long story a bit shorter, I was left on the phone to a call centre in India for over an hour, being passed from one...
