We opted for XP mainly because we already know it but also as reports of vista are at present a mixed bag of positive and negatives. We will let others do the bug testing! It is supplied with a variety of software although this too can vary depending on supplier. We have Norton antivirus 2006, Adobe Acrobat Reader 7.0, Cyberlink Power DVD, NTI CD-Maker Gold for DVD burner, Aspire self burn Recovery CD, Acer Resource CD, Acer Empowering Framework. ...support on the wire near the computer plug meaning the copper inside the wire's insulation can bend and break easily. I had had mine for a little over a year. I was not willing to shell out £30 on the net for another poorly designed adapter, so I went to my local electronics store and came across this universal adapter. The Trust Universal Adapter truly is universal. It comes with a wire to which you can connect one of 6 notebook plugs or 9 other connectors for most phone models or iPod. These attach to another wire which can be attached to the main box, meaning you can charge your mobile or iPod while using it to power your laptop. One of the 6 notebook connectors should work with the vast majority of notebook models, even if not specified (you can always email customer support and enquire beforehand). ...I had this monitor sent to me by Acer after my previous monitor, the AL1914 was deemed beyond repair. My first thoughts were of excitement as the 1951 was of a considderably higher spec than the old monitor. My excitement became a reality when I got the monitor set up. On opening the box, I found the monitor itself, the power supply, and both a VGA and DVI cable. The stand was already pre-fixed to the monitor and this also doubles up as a wall mounting bracket, should you wish to attach the monitor to the wall. On the back of the base there are sockets for the mains power supply, one for the VGA cable, one for the DVI cable and one for an audio feed, should you wish to make use of the monitors internal speaker.
