This scanner has a TWAIN compliant driver, and can be accessed directly from any program that can support it, thus allowing you to scan directly into the application. It gives a good reproduction of the original image and is as quick as any that I've used. A full A4 preview comes up an under 10 seconds. The driver has some nice features that allow you to make simple alterations the image at scan time and settings for different types of paper being ... ...and OCR software both of which I found OK to use. If I had to make some negative comment, it would not be about the scanners capabilities, but more around the SCSI implementation. The reasons for this appear to be cost related and aren't really a problem as long as you are aware of them before you spend your money. The connectors are 25pin Ds, which are not the most common these days, and there is no terminator supplied. These are only a problem ...

this acers just like the travelmate 6292 302 as it has all the same specs apart from this one only runs at 1.8 GHz processor speed whereas the newer 6292 302 runs at 2ghz speed.
