I for one, absolutely love the look of this acer. The bottom of the laptop just looks really cool, and the top looks ok too. One only criticism on the look, would be that the plastic at the tip of the screen is a little thick, but then again it does have a built in webcam, so I suppose that makes up for it.
This is a very compact travel mate, with only a 14.1\" TFT active matrix screen, however the quality of this screen is great. This laptop isn't really that fast to be honest, however if your not using memory demanding programs or wanting to play new games on it then maybe its 512mb of built in ram is good enough for you. But, like I say, if your not sure of what ram you will need, then your better just getting a better laptop rather then buying this for a bit cheaper and getting frustrated because its so slow.
Because its portable, its also light, it only weighs 2.4 kg which is great if you want to carry this about a lot, or if your just a weak person. Also its battery life is pretty reasonable too, its has a 6 cell lithium battery built in which can last up to 2.5 hours which I thinks pretty good.
This laptop also has 80gb hard drive. This to some people could mean a lot and to others might just be enough to store their photos on. However for most users I would suspect that 80 gb is round about the average amount of storage you'll need. But like I said with the ram, if you need more, then just simply get a better laptop with more memory on it.
Another good thing about this laptop is its built in 5 in 1 card reader, this reads any of SD Memory Card, Memory Stick, Memory Stick PRO, MultiMediaCard, xD-Picture Cards. This makes connecting data so much easier and without using wires.
I advise this laptop to someone who doesn't need a lot of ram and hard drive space, also to someone who wants something really portable then this is great. However don't get this if you need more space or want a gaming laptop because you'll just feel like you've wasted your money on this.

(+) cool and quite robust trackpad, good display,64-bit windows 7 (-) few connectors,dell drivers only, not realy for gameing (most models), finger print prone!
How much does it cost? Very helpful review, looks really good, never really trusted Acer though

Well reviewed! ~ I have had 2 Acers now, and they are pretty good machines...I now have the Aspire 5601 and it is quite decent, though I could really do with 2 gigs of Ram now, so I shall prob upgrade. Good review :-)
