I've had my Acer 5320 Travelmate for 3days now. This is my first laptop and to be perfectly honest, it has everything that I need and more.
I purchased this along with a T-Mobile offer which was a FREE laptop if you took out a mobile internet dongle with 3 GB allowance for £30 per month for two years. I only look at the advert and thought what the heck, get it!
Next day it arrives, opened it all up and my god I couldn't believe what it had! Firstly I didn't expect this computer to have an infrared port, Bluetooth, wireless, integrated camera, microphone and a memory card reader all built it!!!! I was a little kid at Christmas.
Now personally myself, I know you can get better looking laptops, better designs and probably a lot more crammed into a computer, but for the offer that I got and for what I got, I am more than happy with! I believe that one of these laptops is £350 so if you have the money to buy outright, never had a laptop before, if you're a student I would definitely recommend it to you.
I don't think it's that heavy. Probably 2.5kg if that. It only comes in black which is a bit boring but hey! am I bothered? Will that affect what the laptop does? No.... It has a 15.4" widescreen panel which uses 16.7 million colours! And is with optional Acer Crystal Eye (pending on the configurations'). It also has PrimaLit technology for improved low light performance and it provides perfect images under any circumstance. The combination of the latest wireless connection and Acer's Empowering Technology (a complete suite of productivity-enhancing tools) and a crystal eye integrated camera which is webcam optimised for video conferencing and a clear speech microphone. I also have 120GB hard drive which I think is definite value for money!
Other great features this laptop has to offer are;
It has an Intel® Celeron® mobile processor with up to 1MB L2 cache, Mobile Intel® GL960 Express Chipset, S-ATA Hard Disk Drive with Acer DASP (Disk Anti-Shock Protection), DVD-Super Multi Double Layer drive, DVD/CD-RW combo drive, 5-in-1 card reader, supporting Secure Digital (SD), MultiMediaCard (MMC), Memory Stick® (MS), Memory Stick PRO™ (MS PRO), xD-Picture Card™ (xD) and built in speakers.
If you get this laptop through the T-Mobile offer I did, like I said it costs £30pm with a t-mobile dongle to connect you wherever you want to be, whether it be the park, the car, on a boat, plane wherever! The dongle also comes with a t-mobile sim card which you put into the dongle which also gives you 1000 texts and calls to use as you wish. You can never go over your 3 GB allowance, text or calls, but if you they won't charge you for it. Instead they help you to stay within you limits or put you on a different price plan. You also get a 90 day trial of Norton internet security and antivirus already built into the computer & 60 day trial of Microsoft office 2007.
So.... technically speaking, I paid nothing for a very good laptop! A definite pat on the back for getting this as my first laptop :-)
