Put a lot of research into looking at a laptop for myself on a strict budget. All I really wanted initially was fast internet, good graphics for photo and video software and minimal computing power for work related software.
Got the travelmate 5720 at a local shop for €1,100 last year. They upgraded the RAM to 3GB as part of the price. I know I could have gotten it cheaper online but as this was my first laptop I wanted somewhere nearby to be able to return it should there be any problems.
Nearly a year later and no problems with this machine at all. Apart from the Battery which is useless, maybe 90-120 mins which is no good when on the move.
Would definitely look at Acer first when getting a replacement laptop in a few years time. No faults with this at all.
