this is acers new try at revamping their travelmate range, and their aspire range too. this travelmate, like the others is also designed for buisness people on the move. although this is the smallest and sleekist laptop from the acer line, this laptop still isnt as sleek and cool as some of the other new laptops out their on the market today.
the TravelMate 6292 301 weighs 2kg with its 6-cell battery in place which i think you will agree is a really nice leight weight laptop, if your looking for somthing to take places alot. its actual footprint on a desk is only a little bigger than apeice of a4 paper, so this is really portable. this is basically the cheaper version of the the acer travelmate 6292 302. as its 1gb of ram less.
acer has made a real effort to change the design and robustness of this product. acer claim to have, provided better ergonomics, improved build quality and enhance overall durability in their new product and they have even added an magnesium alloy into the TravelMate chassis for enhanced robustness. even the lid over the screen is protected alot more, and you can tell by just holding this laptop its alot more secure then the previous types. this acer has a 12.1 inch screen, but because its widescreen, it makes the heigh of the screen seem small and squashed. however the screen does incorporate acers crystalbite technology, designed to makes the screen crisper and brighter.
the keyboard has quite large keys on, making it really easy to type. the best feature on this laptop must be its VGA-resolution Crystal Eye webcam and the imadge quality is so much better than the other acer previous laptops.
the battery life on this is a massive 5 hours, this is proably due to the smaller screen. as well as a wireless lan arial built in, this laptop also has a wireless Bluetooth aerial which is very handy for sharing photos and videos from your phone to your laptop.
the processor is an Intel Core 2 Duo which is one of the fastest and is runs the 1gb of installed ram like a dream. another thing to mention is that the ram can be upgraded to a massive 4gb for those users who use demanding programs. this laptop has an huge 160gb hard drive, so is proably alot more than most would fill, and it even has a 5 in 1 card reader. however if you want a fster laptop but want the samee look as this acer, get the acer travelmate 6292 302 because it looks exactly the same but just has an extra 1gb of ram.
this laptop is a great buy if your always on the go, the battery life is great, the actual speed of the laptop is amazingly fast, and with so much different features its a real steal.
