...This is the second Travelmate i have owned (the first being the similar Travelmate 8000) and it is the best i have used so far. Below is a list of the things i like and don't like about the product:
Pros:
Large Screen - good for watching films and also doing technical work (ie drawings and graphs)
Hi-spec enough to be quick
Card reader is really useful - we seem to have about very different memory card these days!!!!
Looks good - not really a technical comment but i like it.
Useful acer components - such as the acer grid system and power control options
Wireless seems to be really good at picking up signal
Cons
Heavy
Not the highest spec (you get what you pay for - and better than similar laptops of the same spec!)

Advantages: Will take a 80 GB hdd ?? Disadvantages: no dvd/rw & a small screen & a CRAP batery
...This is a ok laptop but badley made as the screen is to small,
& the batery sucks as you are lucky to get 1 hour out of it,
& no dvd/rw no coms ports no tv/out no yfi pluss the speakers are stereo when they shoud be soround, but for office bizness it ok & can be made to take a badley needed 80 GB hdd & a DL DVD/RW allso will take a 3.060 GHz P4 cpu with 2 GB of DDR 333. Pluss this laptop needs to be abull to take DULE DDR 400 or beter & a anouther hdd & two more pcmi ports & a 52 in one card reader. & be blue ray readey....

...The laptop is a cheap and has good value for money. i bought it 2 months ago after reading a review on, it from DABS.COM.
i use it for my courseworks and of course surfing the web. the laptop is very light and compact making it very easy for me to take it around on jobs etc.
it has all the good features such as a 40gb hard drive and WinXp professional. the processor is marvelous its silent and steady. the cd rw is excellent for copying music etc.
even though the laptop is small its screen is a good size for work and even games. i use the pcmia port for the wirless internet card by belkin and is very good as well as fast....

I bought mine on ebay for £360, I needed it for university study and it's working really well for small documents like word and excel and it will also play some games well, mainly Unreal Tournament online :-)
The disk space of 60GB is plenty for me.... more
