Advantages: Cheap, good performance, easy to install Disadvantages: Power button too touchy
...Bought this computer for the gf. It (along with Vista) was very easy to get up and running. Only issues have been with the operating system and the power button. The OS has run VERY well out of the box (so kudos to MS on that), but it is definetely NOT XP. The power button is easily hit if which is rather annoying.

RAM installed : 1 GB DDR II SDRAM
Hard drive: 320 GB Standard

As it comes with vista now it is a very good buy and worth its money....

Advantages: Everything you could want, particularly amazing multimedia handling. Disadvantages: Gamers beware
...The Acer Aspire L5100 is an economical, yet complete package for the everyday home computer user.
Behind it's small, ultra-compact chassis lies a powerhouse in entertainment; the latest spec for modern home theatre, AMD LIVE!, boasts exceptional and smooth management of your multimedia, the main atrraction for me of this Acer product.
It exudes elegance and chicness in an understated manner; it measures 25cm by 20cm by 6cm and looks fantastic. It therefore feels and looks right at home in a minimalist, stress-free environment.
Due to its cheap price tag of roughly ~£330 one would expect corners to have been cut, but this is not the case.
It has an excellent dual-core AMD Athlon64X2 4200+ / 2.2 GHz processor, an adequate 500GB harddrive to store all your music, films, and videos on, 2GB of RAM, and all the other gimmicks one would...

Advantages: Fast, quality for money Disadvantages: needs better graphic card
...very fast pc very good built in graphics and quiet given it 4 stars no proper technical support from acer on this machine i build pcs so to buy a complete unit for this price is very good but you probably want to put in a new graphics card but doing this made the pc alot noiser so i suggest when buying a graphics card get one with silent cooling system, The card even outran the GeForce 8800 GTS 640MB in multiple cases, despite having half the memory. If you absolutely must stick to a budget, and can't afford to splurge a little on a 640MB GTS board, the e-GeForce 8800 GTS Superclocked 320MB would make a nice alternative to some of the more mundane.
plus If your idea of playing games on the PC is a rousing game of FreeCell, this is just going to be a waste of money. On the other hand, if you're trying to out-frag the rest of the Internet...

As an Amd fan I often check the performance of the new Amd products. Based on a new 65 nm architecture I really expected that this processor is better than than the X2 3800 processor but I had mixed opinions and I'm a little disappointed.
