Introduction
As we all know: as bigger monitor is as better. This here has 22" and is quite big like for Pc monitor. I am sure that we will see much bigger and better in the nearest feature because of all the time developing technology. I have bought this monitor myself one year ago and am seriously satisfied. This is my second monitor plugged to PC. It does look excellent, all buttons you can find under front panel. This Acer is very easy in use and it buttons are very easy to navigate. As it is plug and play device, you will not need any specialist knowledge to connect it. Display works straight after connection. Once your system recognises device you may need to upload newest drivers as they are not included on attached CD. You will not have to do it but it is recommended. Proper drivers can improve device's performance. They are available on internet only or come together with graphic card drivers' package.
About
Monitor itself is very stable thanks this specially designed base. Screen is movable (for about 15 degrees up or down). It is possibly to mount it on a wall. Acer has an analogue (VGA) signal input. What is most important, it does support High Definition resolution. It is so called HD Ready. Acer compliant following standards:- ISO 13406-2, TCO '99
Installation
I think it is one of the easiest devices you can plug to computer. All you have to do is connect cable from monitor to graphic card's slot at the back of your computer and plug power cable to socket. Ta daah. About drivers I have mentioned above.
Inside the box
You will not find here a lot. It is going to be manual on CD, manual book, guarantee, connection cable between monitor and computer and a monitor :)
Display
Resolution as we know is an important issue in monitors, because as higher it is as more specific/detailed picture can be (depends from picture quality too), more things can be displayed at the same time and so on. This one offers maximum of 1680 x 1050 pixels (but with HDCP card it increases to 1900 x 1080 p) which is good enough for standard use. Brightness is 300cd/m2 and it is a weak point but not crucial. We need to remember about its price. I bought mine online for 400 dollars. Now it's almost half. Technology goes in such a speed that many products loose price but not quality, thus we should not look at this factor. Image contrast ratio is 1000:1 which is acceptable and gives very good visual experience.
Design
It is very stylish monitor I think. I have silver front version with black stand. Stand's curves are looking good same as screen frame. Buttons are almost invisible when looking at it but in the same time very easy to find. In the scale of 10 I would give it about 7 or even 8. It is possible to find this monitor even cheaper online. I Need to say that once again as price next to it on Ciao is higher that when I bought it.
Conclusion
I like this monitor and enjoy every single high quality picture I watch, TV or DVD. Acer offers good quality for reasonable price. It is good but obviously not the best one like other top shelf more expensive monitors. I can recommend it for its price and quality it offers, simplicity, design and size. It is really value for money.
